Has anyone else noticed a very poor WiFi reception with their new Mac Mini Intel? I first thought it might be my Samba connection to my Linux box, but I have tried NFS. It is so bad I can not even stream videos. I even noticed iTunes stutter when I streamed a library from my WinXP box.
Oh...
When I first got the board I think it was running bios 1002. I was able to get my CPU to 9x285 fairly stable. It would only crash in HL2 every once and awhile. I have upgraded to various BIOS and it seems like my OC has been falling with each flash. I was running the 1011 BIOS 9x250 with 1:1...
Anyone know where I can get a LP Gigabit NIC card at a decent price? The only one I find is the is 25 packs of 3Com.
I was going to reuse my AMD 64 3000+ 939 on a mATX but there seems to be a lack of onboard gigabit boards. I guess I can sell the CPU and grab an Intel P4. This is for linux...
I have a Coolermaster Stacker case. It has a 5 1/4" to 3 1/2" drive bay converter that converts 3 5 1/4" to 4 3 1/2" IT also has some rubber shock mounts on it to quiet down hard drives you mount in there.
My problem is I did not want to use all three 5 1/4" bays so I removed the converter...
To get the Plextor drive to work on the nVidia SATA you must not install the nVidia IDE drivers. If you do then windows will stop seeing the drive.
It should look like this
NOTE: I have the Silicon Vallay SATA disabled
I currently am running a 6800NU in my water cooled computer. The 6800NU does not run that hot so I just replaced the fan with a waterblock and through on some ramsinks for the memory.
I am now getting an itch to upgrade, and it makes more sense to sell the 6800NU and pickup a 6800GT instead...
The funniest one I remeber is Eye of the Beholder. It did not ask you about it until you went to the second level. Darksun also did that. It always made borrowing a friends copy fun. I remember kids at school photo coping the Dune 2 manual so they could play it.
I just loved all the SSI...
They are the ones installed by Microsoft. To get them just go and remove the nVidia IDE controller in your device manager. Next time you reboot your system will come up and say it has detected a new IDE controller along with your drives. You should then be using the non-nVidia drivers at that...
So you want to do this?
I had to chop off the back half of the cage and use screws to secure it to the back of the case.
The best bet is to us a drill to drill out the holes.
My MSI XA52P worked just fine on my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. So does my Plextor 716SA. They did stop working when I installed the nVidia IDE drivers. If you run the native drivers you should be fine.
Hint if you can boot of the drive it is a driver problem. If you can not then more then likely...
I got it from SNT Systems. It should be under the radiator section.
I have only seen two different 3x120mm grills. One is the A-C one, and the other was this one. Not exactly sure how to get it, but I like the look of it.
I got lucky with the A-C one. Dan had one in stock. I had to...
I do not run a BIX3, but I do have the AquaComputer Evo 360. It is another 3x120mm rad. I also run it with 3 Panaflo M1A. They run of the thermally controlled fan power off my Antec NeoPower 480 and I can not hear them. This is all in an CM Stacker case.
Here is a quick site I made for my...
Hot swapping is nothing new. You could hot swap SCSI for a long time if you had an SCA drive and the back plane for it. They just decided to carry over that feature to SATA.
You can get the LinkSys NSLU2 NAS for $80, 2 USB 2.0 enclosures for around $25 ea., and two harddrives. It is not the fast, but it is probably the cheapest NAS. There is some good support for the NAS since it runs a version of Linux. People have written some good utilities for it. You can...
Watercooling is worth it to me since it is so much quiter now. My HDD is now the loudest thing in my case. 3x120mm fans that are thermaly controlled are better then the POS 7000RPM chipset fan.
So has anyone heard when the Dual AquaDrive might be released. It is probably a waste of money, but it would be nice to help silence and cool my drives at the same time.
I like just about anything to do will building. Maybe I just watch to much Discovry, TLC, and History channel.
I...
I liked the videos. It makes me almost want an Aquero. I always love CNC machines. Now if only I could get one into the extra bedroom of my apartment.....
I hate all you people on the West coast. :D I moved to the East cost from Oklahoma, so at least I have a few more options now.
I just put in my SilentX PSU. It is bearable now. I tried 4 different Vantec Silent Fans. They are all a couple years old. They all had a high pitched whine. I put the Sunon back in. It may be louder but not as anoying.
The Vantec sound okay runing outside, but when I bolt them on the...
Does anyone know the cheapest place to get AC products shipped to the US from Europe? I would prefer to deal with someone that either takes PayPal or credit card. I really do not want to have to deal with bank transfers. About how much have you guys been seeing shipping run? I just shipped a...
Bah, how wants a smally 2x120mm rad when you can go 3x120mm on a stacker. :D
I would go with the largest case you feal comfortable with. You really need to decided if you want 2x80mm, 1x120mm, 2x120mm, 3x120mm. That will tell you what case you should start looking for.
I think the one I used was Vantec even though it said PCToys on it. I yanked it out and put the Sunon back in. The Sunon was not as annoying. They where probably about the same noise level, but the Stealth had a whine to it that was driving me crazy. I am just assuming that is was because...
Bah, then it would stick out. It is nice having everything in one little box. It is a moot point since I have have it plugged into my router atm. I just was looking since it might find it's way over to my TV.
I have the PN15, since it came with mine standard.
My first purchase is going to be replacing the PSU. The non-Silent one I have is driving me nuts. I swear I have had 60mm Delta fans that are quieter then this.
I just put together my SB65G2. I replaced the sunon fan with a Stealth Pro by PCToys and set it to smart fan. To bad my PSU sounds like it is about to blow up.
I really liked the Shuttle but I have gotten used to my wisper quite watercooled AMD 3000+ and this is just to much. How much...
I am looking for a couple extra parts for my shuttle SN65G2. I checked pricegrabber but I was unable to find a price and place for a couple of things.
Shuttle PN15G 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Kit
Shuttle PF16 Aluminum Mesh Grill
I kind of like their 6600GT

The 6800 has a heatpipe going to he back of the card, and that would probably takup the PCI that is behind the AGP.
It also says it only has 9 drive bays. What happened to the other 3 from the old stacker? I am actually using most of mine. Also doors do suck. I also dumped my Antec 1080AMG because of it.
So what is the best fanless video card you can get? I would like one for my shuttle. Aftermarket heatsinks do not count unless they are 1 slot solutions.
