I use photoshop 7 at work and CS at home. CS has got a few new things but the two work pretty much the same. I dont think its really worth it, but it may have some new features you might be interested in.

You could try turning off hyperthreading. I was having hang ups in photoshop on a fast machine and turning off HT fixed it.

Its seems abit dark in the center, I had to look kinda hard to make out the film strip. Also the drop shadow on the text at the top looks a bit much. Overall The design looks good. wildvild.betanexus.com
