Hey guys,
I'm looking to sell my PS3 and replace it with a small-form HTPC to hook up to my 42" TV. My ideal budget is less than $200.
The PC will be used for streaming movies off my home media server as well as streaming Netflix (whether it's 720p or 1080p isn't important to me). It's not...
I know some of these are time-limited offers, but I do plan to shop for similarly discounted items should I not make the cutoff.

I've got a HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop that's about five or six years old. It still runs great, but there are several bright lines that run from the top to the bottom of the monitor.
I'm guessing it's the beginning of a GPU failure, but I'm not sure. Can anyone identify the source of these...
I'm trying to configure my new computer (with this motherboard's on-board sound), with this surround sound system ... ultimately connected to this HD TV.
Is there anyway to get the DVD player/receiver to play surround sound for the computer, TV and DVD player?
Also, which connections...
1) What will you be doing with this PC?
Mostly streaming Netflix, central storage, light gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
I'd like to stay around $500. ~$600ish tops with shipping, handling and tax.
3) Where do you live?
Florida
4) What exact parts do...
I'm trying to extend my Linux partition by 10GB but haven't had any luck. I have access to both means of partitioning in Linux and in Vista but neither will allow me to add unallocated space that's before the linux partition on the hard drive. Is there any way to do this?
My hard drive looks...
Ok, here's where I'm at:
I had Vista installed on my Primary (D:) and just partitioned my Secondary (C:). I've made a 100MB swap partition and a 9899MB ext3 partition with Ubuntu on the Secondary. When asked, I installed the grub into the MBR on the Primary but when I booted there was no boot...
Tragically, I put Vista on this computer. (I was bored. =S )
Anyhow, I'm using the my onboard sound card and have updated the drivers via the realtek website to the Vista drivers but no luck. The speakers are still popping -- a problem I didn't have with XP. I'm using a Koss 5-pt surround...
I'm just looking for something that will better allow me to manipulate their configuration. For example, I'd like to set independent backgrounds on each as well as stretch a single background across both monitors. Anyhow got any advice or does nVidia not support such things?
I can't seem to OC much past 2.34, 213x11 (Stock: 2.2, 210x11). I was thinking I could OC ~245x10 but I can't find which function in BIOS is the multiplier. Help?
So I built my new rig and already have gone they way of many others before me; greedy for more. I've listed my specs below, can you give me an outline of things to do to beef this thing up? ie., memory overclock, (link?) to what speed? Sam for the CPU/Video Card. Just throw down some links if...
