This card is well known for being probably one of the best capture cards ever.
Nothing like recording shows with almost no CPU performance hit. :)
A great card that has served me well. Works perfectly.

You are correct... 480P is not HD....
Back to the noise... I still have to disagree. I would have to say it may be the programming material thats being broadcast. Have you seen this noise with a digital connection via a cable box or OTA (over the air) Antennae? What size was the TV and at...
Hmmm...... I have a 50" HD DLP with an HD2+ chip with a native display of 720P and I'm not sure what you mean by "noise" in the pictures.
Due to the fact that 720P DLP's have such a resolution, what you view as "noise" usually is the fact that the "non-hd" is of poor quality. Try taking a...
Drop MCE.... god I hate thier implementation of DRM for recordings and such. And yes I know there are "hacks" but c'mon, gimme a break. WTF should I have to do such things when there are other products out there that don't require these hacks and give me more flexibility.
Get yourself...
Yep..... I have a BFG 6800GT. I bought a cable that has DVI on one end HDMI on the other. There is no difference in picture quality between HDMI and DVI. HDMI is DVI with audio as stated above.

Well, I think is fvckin stupid not to have 5.1 surround sound in games today. Jeez.... how much extra does it cost to fvckin add it in. Thats ridiculous that a game doesn't support it, especially when almost everyone nowadays has a sound card that supports it.
Jeez, even the consoldes...
I just started playing NFSU 2 and when I go to the audio settings, it show Mono or Stere but no 5.1 surround sound. So I'm curious to know if this game supports 5.1 surround sound.
I'm running on Windows XP Pro
I have an Audigy 2 Platinum Sound Card

Well I would think you may have seen a poorly setup HTPC.
My HTPC setup is razor sharp on a 50" DLP HDTV.
As stated earlier, the secret to a great HTPC and Picture Quality lies in the setting up of it.
If you went to a store and saw some HTPC just plugged into a TV thats only HALF A$$...
Harmony hands down.
I freaking hated messing with Girder on my HTPC, what a pain in the @ss.
Got my harmony 688 and now my remote controls:

Actually, I think as long as the the TV supports 720P than it shouldn't matter.
For example, I'm using a 50" DLP HDTV that can display 720P and have my PC connected with a DVI > HDMI cable.
There are 720P CRT's available at Bestbuy for $900 - $1500 that should be able to do the same as my TV...
1) Get Beyond TV or Sage.
2) Record your shows in MPEG2 using Program Stream format (not DVD format, as Program 3) Stream will allow you to edit your MPEG2 without any A/V problems)
4) Use Woomble MPEG2VCR to easily cut out your commericals.
5) Open Nero and burn your shows commercial free...
Bro, just get the Harmony Remote... It is by far the best remote I have ever used. Understanding the way to program make take a few hours since its not macro commands, but this thing can learn anything. Right now my remote controls the following:

*Custom Built...
