So, it appears EA (according to Joystiq reviewer) has told all media to not post console reviews of BF3 yet because of a day 1 patch. Must be one heck of a patch....has me a bit worried about my ps3 preorder.

I guess I will overclock it all until it melts, then buy new stuff. If only I didn't have kids I could have play money like the old days. :)

Yeah, you are probably right. I just never thought low-medium is what I would have to run at launch with my system. I do have a PS3 I may use for this, depending on how beta goes next week.

I guess I shouldn't have said zero overclocking, I plan to make the small adjustment in the bios to run the ram at 1600. I have considered a hexacore but my editing is mostly just home movies, nothing fancy.

Got to give it to Amazon, I called and complained to support and marketing about Walmart having a $20 gift card and now Amazon has followed suit. So, you get the golden guns and a $20 gift card with your preorder. I think this makes it the leading candidate for best preorder bonus.

Maybe, but I know for a fact that the code to have golden guns is given to you at the time of purchase. So, you are telling me I can plug in the code but not unlock the guns I just entered a code for until I quest for it later in the game? That seems somewhat unlikely. I will try and found out.

Awesome, thanks. I have tried new video drivers and thought maybe it was onboard sound but nothing helped when tweaking and changing drivers or settings. The crazy thing was that the stuttering happened at 1600x1200 AND at 1024x768...that isn't good.

I went 20 months on a 1st generation 360 before it finally had the RROD. Ever since I got it back I have a disc read error about once every 3 days. Happened a lot in Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed.
