From internal Sprint information today, technically it isn't a hard throttle. It's like a QoS policy that turns on after 23GB of used data that reduces the priority assigned to you by the cell tower you are connected to. As long as you aren't on a congested tower, you won't even see any...
Considering the other carriers give you no discount on your bill or charge you a finance fee (vzw), that $15 discount is pretty sweet on top of not needing to pay anything down on a phone except tax.
Lots of talk within Sprint regarding changes being implemented now in preparation for the Softbank deal moving forward, with zero changes or discussion around the possibility of the Dish deal.
I updated the drivers for my DLink PCIe 802.11n card, and disabled onboard ethernet. My system hasn't frozen since! I'm hopeful that this problem is now gone for good. Thanks for being a great PC hardware community with great suggestions!
Thanks, Liger88!
I haven't actually tried the drivers that came on the disk from EVGA. I will add that to my list of solutions to try!
Edited for grammar ;)
I use a DLink Wireless N PCIe adaptor. I haven't tried connecting through another method, though I have updated the drivers. I think this may be part of the problem though. I did try the adaptor in a different PCIe slot. I have an identical adaptor in a Vista box downstairs but all of the...
Thank you for the suggestions! I have run SMART and everything checked out, zero errors. I did have an external USB 3.0 HDD hooked up and I disconnected it. I encountered the same error again after a mix of running games and web videos.
I haven't yet tried testing with a single hard drive...
The Problem:
Temporary system freeze with audio stutter. The system recovers 30sec - 2min later.
Key presses made during freeze will execute after system recovers (ctrl+alt+delete for example)
Usually, but not always, I see an error message in the system tray and I do NOT experience bsod...
Fixed!
I've worked in the wireless industry for 9 years. If you are still using a blackberry because you think the keyboard is superior, you really need to give a swype style keyboard (touch screen) a solid test drive for a week. Much more efficient and enjoyable to use for the vast...
I'm not going to get into this with you, but here are some basic definitions. Your statement is misleading.
Greed: Intense and selfish desire for something, esp. wealth, power, or food.
Capitalism: An economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by...
That was actually a pretty interesting review, however it still seems that the largest benefit of going with that chip is if you plan on streaming your gaming sessions. If you don't plan to stream your live gaming sessions, I'd still go with the Intel i5 3570. If you DO plan to steam your...
Optical drives, case fans, lights, etc, can also put stress on your PSU. However, as others have said, what is important is your 12v rail and its available amps. I'm assuming you have at least 1 optical drive though these run off your 5v rail. Case fans however run off your 12v rail when they...
Hahahaha..... I know right?
We not talking wine here. Graphics cards typically don't become better over time (driver improvements notwithstanding).
I think my thread has officially been hijacked. I love the recommendations for cards with the non-blower coolers. Reading comprehension...
I'm really not as concerned about a few frames/sec difference between the two, though I do always overclock :D. I've been able to find some good reviews on the HIS Iceq Boost 7950, and since it is a full $100 cheaper than the EVGA 670 FTW card I was looking at, I'll be spending my cash on the...
Thank you for pointing this card out! I completely missed it. I do realize that there has been much discussion about these cards and I appreciate the replies that were focused on the criteria I listed. Seems I could have just asked for recommendations on blower cooler 7950's ;).
I've never...
I'm not interested in fan boy arguments. Just objective recommendations based upon the following needs:
- 1920x1080 game play with smooth performance and at least 4xAA (BF3, Planetside 2, Far Cry 3, Etc)
- Support for HDMI hookup to 50" DLP 2nd Display (movies, anime)
- Blower style cooler...
Nearly 16% faster clocks out of the box than the reference 660 ti thanks to the quality six-phase Super Alloy Power upgrades, and GPU Tweak tuning software. The ASUS Direct CU coolers are practically legendary now for keeping the card cool and (more importantly in my opinion) nearly silent as...
Things like how YOU failed to respond with professionalism and maturity in your written exchange with PA? Or were you referring to your online replies to the critics of how you handled the whole customer service debacle, reinforcing the entire community's already low opinion of Paul Christoforo...
I've been impressed with the quality of the "new" products that Corsair has branched out into over the last few years. Used to be just a quality memory manufacturer, but I've been impressed with their power supplies and SSD's recently.
Thank you for the suggestions! Regarding the memory, I was under the impression that even though we don't use traditional methods to overclock the Sandy Bridge platform, can't you still run the memory at the faster speeds to increase memory bandwidth? Or am I to understand that there is...
Well...I'm excited. I've been patiently awaiting the day when I'd finally be able to not only afford, but justify building a new pc. I've been running an old opteron 180 with 2gigs of DDR and an AGP ATI 3850 lol. Needless to say, its getting more than a little outdated and is no longer able...
II'm in the middle of picking/buying parts for a new SB build and have been eyeing the MSI graphics cards due to the custom cooling that is reviewed to work well. They are easy on the eyes as well ;)
Thx for all of the feedback guys. Its really appreciated. I'm fairly convinced that the particular card i got is just a low quality sample. I have it running in windows again and even gamed for a bit. I found that its really not liking AA and AF. I bought this card to take advantage of the...
yeah, still have my nice bfg warranty. If i was positive that i killed the card from something i did then i would have second thoughts about taking advantage of the warranty, but since this case is unique i will probably hit them up for an rma (i'll be leaving those details out of my posts...
i'm always super paranoid about esd so i am very careful, and no its only been removed once since the original install and i was the only one to handle it (still possible though). I also haven't seen anything else quite like this on any of the forums which is why it puzzles me.
....at least, thats what mine had. BFG 6800 GT has been running 410/1110 without any problems at all for the last month. Until a week ago when i started getting artifacts while running star wars galaxies with AA enabled through the driver. Ran the high-dynamic range light demo again to...
I have been running my bfg 6800 gt @ 410/1110 for a month now and have never had any kinds of problems in games or benchmarks. Temps under load were around 80-82 C. 3dmark2k3 was at 12600. So yesterday while playing SWG i start to notice some slight artifacts after playing for awhile. They...
i just got the cracked version from a friend. I don't know how the hell they fit this game on three cd's but i assure you....its on three cd's. game looks and plays great. I'm still buying a copy cuz i believe in rewarding id software's hard work ;)
i've been using a visiontek 9800 pro 128mb until today (got my new 6800 gt). I did visiontek cuz many of the reviews for this particular card had good overclocking results...i was able to do 432 core and 373 mem 24/7...all i added was actic silver 5 to the gpu heatsink and eventually bought...
