it will stop working within a month when dust/hair/dead skin cells(which is what dust is made out of) and other junk gets in the bearings as others have said. I mean the reason why no one makes a ball mouse anymore is cuz of the gunk, and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to clean out those...
i have created 2 mech boards specifically cherry keys by using the ms ergo 4k, it was extremely difficult, but easier (and nicer looking) the second time around. I've since shelved these keyboards for a kinesis i've modded. if you want a new kinesis, it'll cost you i have bought 4 used kinesis...
blues are a good baseline to gauge how other switches will react
browns are clickless blues
reds are clickless and bumpless(no tactile) blues
blacks are even stiffer reds
whites are tactile blacks
goto a bestbuy or whatever and look for a razer blackwidow keyboard, these boxes have cutouts so you can "try" the keyboard while it's still in the box, or if you're lucky find a store that has keyboards laid out. You need a keyboard that has less "force", and the logitech boards use ALOT of...
what do you mean by "base platform" are we talking mouse or keyboard here?
if mouse
for the cherry mod, depends on mouse really, some mice doesn't seem physically possible to mod (like if you had to mod a rat7, you'd take out so much electronics, doesn't make it worthwhile, and the rat7 sucks)...
i modded 2 ms ergo 4k with cherry browns, in the end my daily driver is a kinesis (which still needs modding to be perfect), try a kinesis if you can, if you really like split ergo.
the kinesis is only split in half and "measured" it's shelved until i find free time, the current kinesis i'm using just has a few keyswitch mods like ergo whites and different keycap placement, that i believe only i do.
btw, used the mouse to play hours of diablo (game isn't that fun?) and had...
yea try one of the new cm storm keyboards they come in blues/browns, yada. if you want quiet blues, go browns (with tactile), if you want quiet blues and want more force in your switch, go black with no tactile, if you want quiet blues with the same force and no tactile at all go red.
long convo
i've had this issue for years, i've fixed it since doing a mod a year ago.
mice use omron switches, while nice, use LOTS of force, after a few million keystrokes they start hurting, short answer i use a kinesis, cherry mx switches, so i modded my mouse with cherry mx switches, i have...
so basically i got a new hepa air cleaner, this air cleaner only cleans air when it's dirty so like it's barely on, which means my room is now quiet for the first time in years. i have the amd x2 that unlocked to x4 and i can oc to 3900 on a venomous x, thing is i was using 7 fans.
newegg...
what's this mean? a cherry switch is a cherry switch, now if you're talking about the aluminum component, that is def a factor since that's really rare. I mean yea i've had cheap feeling boards, in fact a cherry g80-8200 felt like a childs toy to me, but i don't go touching the casing all over...
wow that's just... disgusting to have a whole 18 switch bank of rubber dome macro keys... ugh so g13... well i'll be waiting to see who does the first rubberdome replacement then.
i'll do full disclosure here, i personally would never buy it, hell i wouldn't buy or be paid to use 99% of the mech keyboards out there, i'm an ergo guy, but i put my $ where my mouth is, i'm currently finishing up my second mech build
i've put in what i believe are great ergo points into...
Anything Corsair makes is higher priced, but we know it's quality.
want to watercool but dont' want to have 6 hoses and deciding between the ever changing landscape of swiftech/black ice... get a corsair all in one.
actually going to SLI and overclock? can't go wrong with corsair PS
oh, you want...
what about tilde prntscrn, menu, and a few numpad like enter / * and such?
seems like you got a pin short as that would be one whole cluster in the g15v2 red (i can only go on the red since i opened it up and traced all the pins) but yea sounds like a trace has gone bad.
Again, I stress the fact that this is still a mouse that is in BETA. All madcatz had to do was find reviewers who would actually review the mouse, put it through it's test and take the feedback, not give it out to probably the worst pro gamers around if they thought this mouse passed the test...
cool, i love the microsoft 4k as well, so much that i had to only use it when i wanted a mechanical board, i just can't find any other physical keyboard layout that is so comfortable
your probably holding down "shift" too long one of those sticky key options. it's in the ease access center or hold/press shift 5x or fuss with it, the option will pop up. Other that i have no options, i'm assuming your using wasd and shift for stuff.
the reviewers are different on benchmark for rat7/rat9

i've had mine for 2years? and the "feels great" wears off after a year, but you know what that is still great, because what do you get besides the "feels great" feeling? nothing. You don't get a feeling at all which is AWESOME!
how is buying a nearly 700$ chair and not feeling awesome in it...
the mechanical activation of any mech switch is still louder than a basic membrane keyboard. and yes i am not talking about "clicky" browns and blacks are still louder than membrane and no i am not talking about bottoming out either, it's the actually mechanical act of having the spring press...
+1 creative fatality mouse POS (yea cheap after rebate for good reason)
+1 cyborg rat7
i have a 5yr old bluetooth 20$ mouse that tracks better than the rat7. And it feels better cuz then i don't have to slam the rat7 on the mouse pad out of fustration and checking to see if it's working.
if you spend 8+ hours at work and you can't have the department pay for a chair that won't cause basically what would account to bad spinal injury then the smart thing to do would be to pony up 800bucks for a work chair that you'll be sitting in 8hrs a day 5 days a week, for at least a year...
ummm pretty sure you just have a defective unit. use to aleviate your microwave fears i put a temperature probe next to my opened up deathaddler (i was thinking of modding it) and there was no change.
rat7, most adjustable/ergonomic mouse (that isn't a stupid ergonomic mouse) out there, pathetic sensor/tracking/software and build quality.
if you really care about having a quality mouse, do not buy a rat7, if you can't tell the difference between a $20 ball mouse and a 99$ mouse (like some ppl...
