Facebook Pushing Employees To Switch To Android

I'd assume its in reference to the marketing line of "eating your own dog food," meaning use your own product. Now, why FB is saying android is their own product is beyond me, but that's the way I took it.

    Ripping DVD's in VMC

Okay, after a little more searching this morning I think I may have my answer, MyMovies. Would this be correct? Using CloneDVD to copy my disk to a VIDEO_TS folder and then MyMovies should be able to play it. Does that sound about right?

Can a harmony go through walls?

I don't know about the 360 remote question, but the harmony 890 can send RF signals to a receiver that converts to it to an IR signal. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/374&cl=us,en

    Ripping DVD's in VMC

Okay, I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I've spent a bit of time looking though the forum (since the search feature is off) and googling the topic but haven't been able to find a suitable answer. I'm wanting to copy some of the DVD that I own to my HTPC so I don't have to put...

    VMC Power Settings (Sleep Mode)

Is there a way to have a VMC box go to sleep mode when not in use but wake itself when there is a recording about to start? Or should I just turn off the sleep mode altogether?

    HTPC Antivirus recommendations

I can understand the logic behind the idea of no av. However, I have to disagree a bit, because while my HTPC may not be online, other computers will be. The HTPC will have open shares and with other in the household online a virus can easily spread from their PC to the HTPC.

    HTPC Antivirus recommendations

I tried searching but didn't find an answer, so I apologize if this has been asked before. I received all my HTPC parts, installed vista, installed updates, and have been enjoying all the aspects of getting it setup to use, but I'm trying to determine which anti virus program to use on the...

I setup Windows Home Server but have a few questions

Yep, that's how an added drive works. As far as the media share, when you install the client software on person machine, it will create a desktop icon called shared folders. You can use this to access the media folders to copy files to. I will reiterate what OldPueblo said, make sure you copy...

    IDE - SATA adapters

Yeah, that's it. What are everyone's thoughts on how much lag/latency would be added by using an adapter at both ends?

    IDE - SATA adapters

I know they make IDE to SATA adapters that plug directly into a harddrive to connect to the SATA port into the motherboard. I was wondering however, do they make an IDE to SATA that plugs directly to the IDE connector on the mobo. Then you can run that cable to the HD or DVD drive. Most...

    Feedback on HTPC parts

Would the 8200 really benefit me since I'm not using a discrete VC with this setup? I see the main addition is the hybrid power tech. What else am I missing.

    Feedback on HTPC parts

I just noticing that the mobo's standard memory is listed as DDR2 1066. Should I purchase that speed or will DDR2 800 work okay? Here are a few I just found at newegg, thoughts? others suggestions?

    Feedback on HTPC parts

Thanks for all the tips. Very, very useful. I guess I'll probably drop down to Home Premium 32bit and 2gigs to save some money. My wife will be happy about that. As far as the HSF goes, with the case are using that cooler it appears that you can remove the fan from the HS and save a little...

    PATA to SATA adapter?

I'm building a HTPC with a microATA mobo. It does have a IDE connector on it but I would rather not have to route the large cable around the case for my DVD drive. Also I don't really want to buy a new sata drive as I have plenty of DVD drives and and would like to wait until blu-ray drives...

    8800GT vs 8800GTS

Except for my very first PC (a Packard Bell in the 90's), I have always built my own. I'm not against it now and would prefer to build my own but I definitely have to squeeze the most out of my $$. I'll look around a bit more and see what I can do. I really need to keep my between 700-800...

I understand that the retail version of Ultimate contains both the 32bit & 64bit versions. However, I haven't been able to find a definite answer on if the OEM version has both versions. I see that you can by the 64bit or 32bit OEM versions and it concerns me that if I by the OEM I won't have...

CompUSA Makes Good On Empty Box Sale

I admit I didn't RTFA, but I can easily see how someone might not know it isn't in the box for a month. It would be easy to buy a present that far in advance esp if it was a great deal. I know I would buy a present that early for a good deal. LK

    Ageia PhysX & You

As I was reading review on other sites I kept saying to myself I can't wait to read HardOCP's take on it. As Kyle said near the end was that everyone else was looking at framerate to see how it performs and I didn't agree with that, it's about the experience. Thanks Kyle for another well...
