My signature rig is my current rig. I'd like to build a 2nd machine for development (Programming). It'll be running a couple VMs of nix and Windows so that I can code against on-machine services. Either my signature rig can be used for programming or my new rig.
One of the rigs will get the...
The second monitor came in and was 10x worse than the first. It has a scratch on the screen a good six inches diagonal across the center. Newegg quality assurance must be ass for refurbished monitors. I'm thinking about keeping the first though. Besides the scratch, I like the screen and resolution.
So I just received the PG278Q from newegg on eBay and it was looking like it winner, until I noticed a 5mm scratch under the screen that shows on white. Location is top of the panel where I would see most of my tabs in browsers. So not something I will keep. I've started an RMA process and will...
I have done the mod to my Asus monitor to have the new Gsync board. But when I go click on Enable Stereoscopic 3D in the nVidia Control Panel, it says "GSync will be disabled. Do you still want to enable Stereoscopic 3D?".
That's strange to me because nVidia's website and manual show that 3D...
I'm putting up my consoles and games collections up for sale on eBay. Will you help me out by checking these out and maybe posting on your Facebook so that your friends can also be made aware? Amazing personal collection but I'm in need to let them go.
The more ppl who can click the links...
Thanks Godmachine.. I'm excited to try it when my DIY kit comes in Friday. I already had owned the monitor and it makes sense to try since I have two nVidia 680s in SLI.
Godmachine... how are you setting your games? V-sync on/off? Adaptive v-sync? How high of a frame count have you seen? Was the color calibration required?
I went in on one thanks to this article on HardOCP. Guess it's time to get [H]ardCORE again. I'll share my experiences when it happens over the weekend.
Hi guys. Coming to you for advice on another build. This time, I want to plan out parts to pick up for a mid-range/entry level gaming rig. I'm thinking a hybrid SSD/HDD will be good for speed/storage space for games. Don't think an optical drive is needed.
1) What will you be doing with this...
I was able to build the computer last week. It took about two hours to make since it was a small space to work in. I had to disassemble the case completely to get the connector frame in place. The case allowed me to do this though. Here is the picture of the final product.
My final specs:

OK what do you suggest?
The eBay guy cancelled on me.
"Thank you for the quick payment. Unfortunately I will not able to ship the item until November 1st as I just left my office and won't be back for another two weeks."
So I either replace the mobo or get a mini-itx case that is small. I...
