    Horizon Forbidden West

The port is extremely well done. For the launching version, performance is excellent, no stability issues, looks great.

    Dragon's Dogma 2

Another potentially great game ruined by terrible performance, I’ll be skipping this for some time.

    Cyberpunk 2077

Get the 4090. I currently use 3090 and 4090 for gaming. The difference is huge. A generational performance uplift from 3000 series to 4000 series is one of the biggest in the recent GPU history.

    Alan Wake 2

The same goes for normal ray tracing. Sometimes, approximated approach of rasterization can look more pleasing. WIth that being said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you ask what looks good, all you going to get are just opinions. RT (and PT for that matter) isn't about looking more...

Not sure if this mod was instroduced here. Just tried it myself and it looks amazing. https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/9274?tab=description https://youtu.be/KKY7yL5l9M4

A sweeping generalization. I've seen DLSS providing better image quality than native (due to poor TAA implementation) and I've also seen DLSS providing worse image quality compared to native. There are various factors where AA and/or scaling contribute to image quality.

    Alan Wake 2

What analysis? I am all for critique and constructive opinion. All I saw was whine and stupid reasoning.
  10. ShePearl

    Alan Wake 2

Well, is someone pointing a gun in your head forcing you to use DLSS? I don't get it. DLSS is provided as-an-option. Period. You can choose to use it or ignore it. If you don't like 1080p image with DLSS, run it at 540p native. It's your choice. No technology is perfect.

    Alan Wake 2

I'm sorry if I sound harsh. But these reasonings are retarded. The game's *lowest* settings look better than the *highest* settings in some of finest looking games available. Let's say a developer "A" made a game "A1" that looks amazing and runs great on current hardware. A1's "highest" setting...

    Alan Wake 2

Agreed on the game being spectacular looking. With regards to RT, even if you have RT disabled in the option, the renderer does its own software RT for GI. This makes the game look amazing even in RT disabled mode.

14900KS coming with new boards same 1700 socket TechYES video

Yes. Just like the previous generation, they will release it in January close to CES. And yes, it will be a *renamed* 13900KS just like 14900K.

    Alan Wake 2

I don't think core lighting in AW2 is baked. After all, even in RT 'off' mode, the game uses RT in software mode. And in CP2077, SSR is still used/baked even in Overdrive (PT) mode.
  15. ShePearl

    Alan Wake 2

Although CP2077 graphics has lots of checkboxes, visually the game is mixed bag really, IMO. AW2 visual fidelity is better and technically superior in every way.

    Cyberpunk 2077

Does anyone know of a good mod for HUD? I find this game's HUD is too cluttered. Is there a mod to dynamically show/hide HUD? Also, stand/crouch icon on the bottom right screen looks quite bad, I think. There's not even an option to remove it.

    Cyberpunk 2077

There are tons of stutter free videos on YouTube.
  18. ShePearl

    Cyberpunk 2077

I disagree. I always play games with RTSS frametime and framerate graphs on. No stutter while autosaving.
  19. ShePearl

    Cyberpunk 2077

Perhaps, it's not autosave. Because I've never experienced traversal/loading sttutter while being autosaved in this game.
  20. ShePearl

    Cyberpunk 2077

It's my understanding that if path tracing is enabled, SSR is not used at all. Hence, the setting does nothing. (I think CDPR should grey it out).

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

I did the exact opposite. Played rogue to level 40, stopped playing rogue and made a barabrian. Leveled the barabrian to level 42 now. I like playing barbarian quite a bit more than rogue. Strange as it sounds but I almost always play agile, middle armor thief/rogue/assassin class in RPG...

This game runs great even on a potato PC. A potato PC in our kitchen consists of: i7-6700K @ 4.7GHz, 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3, 2x 1TB Samsung 970 Pro NVMe. WIth every grpahic settings cranked up to max (with Ultra textures) at native 1440p, it runs at average 95-100fps. VRAM...

I think the absolute best way is for Microsoft to allow Windows users to choose/select their own custom reference mode in the dispay settings. Among a few others, one of the custom parameters is the SDR Transfer Function, which the user can pick between BT.1886 (for film), a pure gamma 2.2 (for...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

Wow. Another shitpost by you. Seriously, you should stop if you don't know what you are talking about. As I said earlier, the more you talk, less sense you make. That's flat out embarassing. There have been countless complaints about the game looking washed out when HDR is enabled, swaying...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

Lol. What? I'm afraid the more you talk, less sense you make. If it is due to "the ever present-fog" in most areas of the game, it would affect the SDR image as well. I think the easiest way to spot it really is on the login screen where you can see the blacks in the background brighten up a...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

Current state of HDR in this game is raised black level resulting in washed out image. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. If HDR image is washed out while SDR image shows no such problem, I say its HDR is broken. As for your comment on this game ignoring your Windows color profile, not sure...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

I guess you haven't seen many HDR games. By reading your CX55 settings, it's doesn't look like it's properly calibrated either. If you see Blizzard official forums and reddit, there are tons of complaints regarding HDR in this game. 99% of the complaints are raised black resulting in washed out...

Diablo IV - The Real Official Thread

Agreed. HDR is broken in this game. Raised black kills it by looking washed out. This is apparent on IPS, FALD VA and OLED displays I've tried. Looks much better in SDR.

    Elden Ring (From Software RPG)

No, I'm not. I was correcting you. It's obvious you don't understand what API is and its relations to other layers of software (& hardware).
  37. ShePearl

    Elden Ring (From Software RPG)

Yeah, sure. Lol. The game doesn't "handle" API. It accesses it. API is controlled and managed by kernel. And the kernel accesses hardware through HAL.
  38. ShePearl

    Elden Ring (From Software RPG)

Yeah, I read it all right.
  39. ShePearl

    Elden Ring (From Software RPG)

Nonsense. Elden Ring doesn't "handle" USB controllers. An application (Elden Ring in this case) doesn't know (and doesn't need to) about voltages or anything related to batteries of controllers. This belong to HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) which the game does not have access to. The game...

    Questions about G-Sync

If the framerate reaches or exceeds the max refresh rate at any point, G-SYNC no longer has anything to adjust, at which point it reverts to V-SYNC behavior. I recommend reading the BlurBuster article on G-SYNC. All your questions are answered in the article.
