I hope to get my 2407 tomorrow. I decided to make my own decision based on how it fit my needs.

If you are buying E6600 or above get the 975X if not then 965 is the way to go. Do not spend 250 on a 965 board.

I built a 6700 conroe on this board with a 7950X2 and have been playing battlefield 2 with no issues.

I have a case which inverts the motherboard and if you are an extreme overclocker on air I would not buy a motherboard with a heat pipe or I would remove it if I did. However, after taking the plastic off the north and south bridge on my P5W-DH I have not had a single heat issue. I am running...

The processor is sold to compwarez memory pending responce from jackbauer.

Jackbauer has first refusal on the memory and compwarez on the processor. The processor is socket 939. Also my heat is under dad11345 sorry I got it mixed up with my e-mail alias.

I lucked out, even thought my bios sticker read 502 it was flashed to 701. It recognized my Conroe E6700 and booted up first try.:)

I know your frustrated but don`t give up. Sometimes walking away for a while and thinking about what might be the problem helps. Try the suggestion about pulling the battery and resetting the C-Mos. I have seen previous postings of folks having to do that after updating the bios to get it...

I gave 567 for my OEM 6700 at ClubIt I guess I did not do too bad. It has a one year warranty from Intel.

I ordered an Asus from http://www.antaresdigital.com/. They had the P5W-DH in stock and it shipped Friday UPS. I have my 2 day tracking number. I never ordered from them before. I paid 142 plus shipping. Going well so far.

Nice post as long as you make it clear if you overclock you are accepting the risk of potential damage to the processor and components. Too many would over volt the CPU and then try to RMA it.

My understanding is everyone is welcome here. Many are here to help and others to learn. Most check there ego at sign in. Just enjoy and realize nothing is perfect when people are involved, which is why we have computers.

I am beginning to think Intel used the July 27th launch date to get people to buy up some of the old LGA775 motherboards in hopes of getting their new Conroe`s up and running on the 27th. How many out there have boards and no processors? :rolleyes:

Ok its was not a dud launch. What do you call it when there are more ES`s out there then retail?

Intel release dates are fluid. A continuing process. Besides it takes time to pull out the ATI stickers from the Conroe box`s and put in the Nvidia ones.

Hey more new hardware to read about. I don`t have the money to buy it anyhow.. Don`t you just love more options for the consumer?

I like the board. It would handle any overclocking I would do and performed great at stock speed with the new bios.
