Do make sure you still check the prices against Amazon. Just for example, the PSW10 subwoofer - what I understand to be one of their better sellers - is cheaper on Amazon.
edit: but then the PSW125 is a full $150 cheaper than Amazon. Wow.
They're doing it because those 4% of listeners are probably using extremely heavily - maybe 20% of the total listening or more - and it likely screws up their numbers for the purposes of advertising.
But I'm sure some well-meaning internet activists will organize a boycott and force Pandora...
On my Y570, there's something in there that, even once I played with every setting in Windows' Power control panel and the Nvidia control panel, it still would slow down a bit when on battery. Hopefully that's fixed on the Y580, but I won't be too broken up if it's not.
Nvidia and ATI have been doing this with mobile GPUs for the last decade. The M means different performance, so you've got to find benchmarks for that particular card, period.
What pisses me off is what Lenovo/Nvidia did with the Y570 where they used a "GT555M" but it was clocked much slower...
There was a Y580 configured roughly like this on Black Friday at the same price, but I decided not to bite at the time. Did this time - thanks for posting the deal!
Only thing I'm curious about is if you dive into some of the detailed results (like under 3dmark Vantage) notebookcheck.net, I...
I'm fine with appeals to donate as long as it's not making noise, slowing my browser in any way, or blocking the content I want to see, which Wikipedia's not doing. You have to understand that the site actually spends money to deliver to you the content you see and they only survive through...
I have a 660Ti and am finally using Nvidia Surround for a couple of games, but this feature is a pain in the frigging ass to use when back on the Windows Desktop. I have seen articles that show a few desktop management features, but these articles are six months old, and I'm running the latest...
My local Wally World only had $10 "Free Realms" cards, but they are just straight Station Cash and came with 200 points ($12 of points for $10, not quite as good as $20 of points for $15). Worked just fine, bought two and got a total of 7200 points.
Well, I was a little surprised to find that on the MSI 660 when I overclocked it to 1170/7000, MSI Kombustor (which is pretty much Furmark, as it's even made by the same guys) actually did wind up doing basically the same thing as just idling in Heaven Benchmark or that Nvidia "A New Dawn" demo...
My MSI 660Ti PE seems happy with me maxing out the power/voltage setting in MSI Afterburner (+100mv and I think 114% power) along with going to 1170 on the core and 7000 (or 3500, or 1750, depends on what software you ask) on the memory.
I've still got to do an hours-long Kombustor/Furmark...
Not bad. The GT550M won't run the latest games at amazing quality/frame rates considering the screen is 1920x1080, but it wouldn't be too bad with a drop in detail or resolution.
I guess that people who aren't in the industry can't see it, but this game was far from "essentially finished". From the placeholder graphics to the missing animations, skins, and quite a bit more, I'd guess that this is pre-alpha. Alpha at best.
NPD only tracks new game retail sales in the US. It's useless for everything else. No DLC, no used sales, no social network game tracking, and not one digital download service.
You have the right of it - I do think my way is the right way. That's how opinions work, and a whole ton of people who play competitive FPS games helped me form that opinion. Others' opinions may differ, but I'd love it if the serious players that pick hardware for online FPS games could...
Work hard, play hard. If I get killed because my frame rate isn't up to par, that doesn't suddenly become acceptable just because the dude that shot me has some cool shadows underneath him, or a collar smoothed out by antialiasing. On a site so dedicated to squeezing performance out of games...
I wasn't saying graphics settings don't matter, nor was I saying that low settings are always better. I was saying that if you are forced to choose between eye candy and frame rate, the latter *is* always better, and that lowering detail (but not resolution) settings to maintain 60fps (or more...
I know that criticisms of methodology are not terribly welcome and all, but I just don't see the point in leaving SSAO or antialiasing on (yes, even FXAA) in multiplayer mode, especially when your frame rates are dipping down to 45 like this article showed on the 560Ti. For a competitive FPS...
I know all about the defenses some people have of these sites, but people should probably be aware that these sites DO sometimes steal keys, and there is proof out there. There was a big thing on NeoGAF about it, and linking to these sites over there is now a bannable offense.
If it's not...
Yeah, I bought a code off ebay and bought a G27 a couple days ago, expecting it to ship in like four months. Got the ship notification today. Amazing work, Logitech - but it also shows that Logitech's margins are pretty high on most of this stuff, too, if people can get a 50% discount on so...
Core i7 950 + 2x GTX460 1GB in SLI... Everything's working fine here. Finished two full playthroughs. Everything's cranked up at 1080p, nearly locked at 60fps, and I don't get any issues with Tessellation if I use FXAA instead of MLAA.
At least pick up Old World Blues at some point. Totally worth the cost, no matter what you paid for the base game. I'm hoping the upcoming release Lonesome Road this month will be at least as good. (Last DLC for New Vegas, too.)
I dunno, EA made it very easy for players to make the right choice: either jump into Battlefield 2 (maybe for the Project Reality mod) for $5, or go with Bad Company 2 for $5. (Get Vietnam if you're a good Assault/Medic player, or you like flying. Engineers that rely on gadgets to take out...
I noticed everyone was stuck on a useless argument and didn't answer you, so I figure someone should. This is generally much more of a sim than an arcade racer, and while you can turn on the assists, doing that won't really add any fun for those not looking for a sim.
Someone might try to...
jeremyshaw, Alienware M11X is probably your best bet, but it's also likely the most expensive. You can always troll the Dell Outlet deals to try and find one at a better price. I got an M11X R1 for $450 six months ago, and it's been fantastic. I already had a 7200RPM HD to drop into it, and I...
It is good. Free roaming but still has a story, and the building destruction physics are unparalleled in any game. At it's best, it's a Martian Monster Truck simulator, but at it's worst, it can be a bit boring and annoying in a few missions.
It's well worth six bucks just to watch...
Gonna pick up the printer later today. I've got a Samsung ML-1740 that has served us well for something like 8 years, despite me dumping cheap-as-shit toner from a bottle into the same toner cartridge it shipped with. Thing was a trooper, but it's time to get modern with the wireless...
Vietnam is pretty much equivalent to a total conversion for those of us in the old Quake days. Same style of gameplay, but the models, sounds, music, maps, weapons, vehicles, and textures are new.
That being said, I prefer vanilla BC2, mostly because I play an engineer and need the gadgets...
Yeah. I updated mine, but I have no idea if it stopped the shutdown issue since it's only happened a couple times in the last week. It'd take me at least a week of no shutdowns to start thinking that the problem is gone
