Bump - finally sold some stuff so I'm ready to start my new build. Any more suggestions for a passive video card? So far the Sapphire R7 250 looks like my best option....
That's a good question. I have PC Speaker as well as Wireless Gaming Headphones hooked up via S/PDIF.
I assume I'll just need to change the audio output every time I want to use the TV? Or maybe get a second sound card?
I have two Asus 24" montiors, both with HDMI. The better of the two is the VE247H which according to the website will do full 1080P.
What problem do you envision possibly? I'm assuming the monitor & the TV would have to have the same resolution on the splitter?
I'm looking to upgrade my video card in my PC. Currently running a 9600GT 512MB and it does the job, but it doesn't have an HDMI port for my TV so I'm in need of an upgrade.
I'm looking for a card to do the following:
1) Light gaming, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, other Blizzard games, nothing...
Great idea! That sounds like it will solve my problem and should work perfect. Thanks
Now I need to find the right video card. Can anyone recommend a good Silent/Passive Video Card with at least 1 HDMI output? I want to be able to play SC2 on full settings, and also steam 1080P to my TV...
Thanks for your reply, but that doesn't answer my question. I'm not looking for an alternative solution at this point, I'd still like to explore my original preference as outlined in my initial post.
Anyone else have any comments/feedback? Anyone have 3 monitors and Windows 7 they could...
I've been running a Mac Mini as my HTPC for the past couple years, mainly because my Gaming PC always sat in another room. Now I live in an apartment where my TV is close enough I could hook it up to my PC and scrap the Mac Mini all together.
Currently I run two 24" LCDs off of my PC, which I...
Thanks for the post guys - unfortunately I live in Canada and it doesn't look like those are available anywhere up here.
Does anyone have any other suggestions or a review of the Genius speakers?
So I've sold my desktop speakers and I'm looking for a decent quality replacement set under $50. No room (or need) for a sub, so I'm strictly looking at 2.0 sets.
I only really use my desktop for gaming and the occasional movie/video. Don't really listen to music on them, and I don't...
Ya you're right, the way I have to set it up with the Modem --> Switch --> Router QoS likely won't work, which is something I might just have to live with and turn my torrents off them I'm gaming.
Bump - is the DGL-4500 worth the extra money vs. a DIR-655?
One thing that annoys me is I have to turn off my torrents when I want to game - would the DGL-4500 fix this problem with its built in GameFuel?
Good news - I can get a 3rd IP address for $9.95/mth, and even get a promo rate on the 25 MBPS internet connection! So looks like I'm all good - any recommendations for routers? I think I'm gonna go with the RT-N16, but if anyone has any ideas let me hear em. Thanks
Yah you're right, that makes a lot of sense. So our network consists of 3 PS3s (Hardwired), 1 PC + 3 Laptops (all WiFi)
So if I got a third IP address, my network would look like this?
Modem --> Switch --> Two PS3s (2 IPs) + Wireless Router (1 IP) --> 1 PS3 (Could do Wired or Wireless here) +...
I see, I understand what you mean. The service actually comes with two IP addresses, so I will inquire about adding a 3rd. Online gaming is that important haha. I guess another option would be getting two internet connections (one with two IPs, one with one IP) - this could work perhaps?
I'm designing the network for my new place, would really appreciate some help.
We have three PS3s, three laptops and a desktop, all wireless but I'll hardwire the PS3s.
I know my friends had some problems previously when they lived together and had 2 PS3s, couldn't play games together (for...
yah you can use an external hd or flash drive. I recommend copying it from the hard drive to the PS3, I find the playback is smoother that way. You can always delete it when you're done off the PS3.
not sure about the 4gb problem, I think streaming works best.
If you can't get it, google...
Just picked up an Powercolor Radeon HD 5450 with HDMI, got it home and installed the latest drivers. Hooked it up to my 50" LG 1080P Plasma via HDMI. When I turn it on, the boot sequence comes on the screen, everything works ok. Once Windows 7 loads - the screen goes black and says "Invalid...
I haven't heard from you regarding the tracking number for either the board or I/O shield and you're not responding to my PMs. Please contact me ASAP via PM or e-mail at timwhitehead(at)live.com
1) Before you sell anything, definitely read the buy & sell rules on the boards, always a good idea to make sure you don't do anything wrong or upset anyone.
2) You'll need to verify your Paypal account (which they can tell you how to do), that way Paypal provides both buyer and seller...
Carbon Copy Cloner is a great program if you need to clone a disk, it WILL copy everything and yes the other drive WILL be bootable.
