Just a follow up -
I was at my local Target buying some things and happened to see a Sonos display with the Play3 and Play5. They had a special, buy either the Play3 or Play5 and get the Sonos bridge for FREE. Well after listening for while I was a bit underwhelmed. Granted the display...
Wow, this looks great. Bit more than I would want to spend but it looks like it does everything I would want too. Guess I'll need to save up for awhile. Thanks for the advice.
Hey all,
I'm looking to replace my cr@ppy portable AM/FM radio. Quick search on Amazon, and all the radios they offer look like poor options. I used to have a Teac Clock/Alarm HD Radio with ipod support that was decent but died after four years. Luckily I never needed it as an alarm clock...
Thanks for your input. I was thinking this monitor would be good for color work (photos, painting) but after your finding I doubt I'll bother with this model. What about sending yours back and getting the older model PA246Q?
I don't own the Asus but I just received my U2410.
I bought my Dell U2410 for digital photo editing, digital painting, gaming & watching movies. If you aren't editing or painting or anything that requires accurate color, then the Dell will be OK. However, the reading text is unsharp and...
Orpheusnz, I'm using a Xigmatek HDT-RS1283 120MM cooler which I thought was in my sig? And I did some Googling and found this. I used Gazmatrix settings (his last post on the bottom page). Still haven't tried to up the CPU yet, at 3.4GHz it's been very stable so far.
Right now, I'm at 3.4GHz and testing for stability on Asus P5Q motherboard. I think my aftermarket CPU cooler is decent enough so I might try to push up to 3.6GHz. At 4GHz, I'm afraid of overheating during this coming Summer.
Also, I just ordered a MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr II/OC for 1920 x...
I'm in the same situation as TeaTime, I haven't OC mine either. What Graphics cards would you guys recommend?
I really like my 9550 but just started to look into the next line of CPUs (Ivy Bridge) because of Arma 2 & 3, and Battlefield 3.
I'm sorry, but why should we care?
Not to sound like a d!ck:
I like Apple, Windows, Intel, Nvidia, Adobe, Firefox, Honda, Canon, SigSaur, etc but these stories only serve investors (which is important) but not to the average consumer.
Ok, maybe I am just a d!ck...
Just came back from my local Barnes & Noble. They had the Nook color there on display. Played with it for a bit, really impressive screen. I have tons of magazine .pdfs and The Walking Dead comic series that would probably work great with this device. But I might wait till Spring to see if...
Hitman games are multiple path way killing goodness. :D Of course the newer game Blood Money looks great. For $7.47 it a great deal. These games are really fun to explore the many ways and methods of eliminating targets.
How's the online coop servers for US players? On Arma 2 there are few big game servers but I have noticed an uptick in more new players since the Steam deal for $20.
What's the difference in heat on laptops? I read the first generation Alien mx11 hardly gets warm (not a core i processor) but the second generation is hot with a core i5.
Would like to use my laptop on my lap at bedtime to read and do light gaming.
If you look at my sig on the bottom, you'll see I already have a capable gaming PC. However, I'm looking to replace my current PowerMac and I'm leaning hard towards an iMac even though I like the 15" MBP i5's.
Understand I'm a dual user like may others for various reasons. PC gaming isn't...
When I play Team Fortress II, I always see a few OSX players with the ipod headphones on there characters. Really surprised no one other an Serpico plays TF2 on an iMac. Figured most people on [H] are gamers too.
Hey people
I'm wondering for those that have these iMacs how is the playability on these two systems? I believe an i5 might be enough to get me by to play those games.
I was checking out the Mac Buyer's Guide and didn't realize that their due for an update.
I've been searching for a 13" - 14" lappy with 1366 x 768 (720p) res, Core i3, and decent video card. Originally, I was looking to buy a new MacBook Pro 13" but unimpressed with the new updates.
So, how is this laptops LCD screen quality? I'm not looking to edit photos, only browse the web...
PC
Provided that the reviews are favorable and it's available on Steam. Also, I use to have a 360 but after RROD (getting it fixed and wondering when it would die next) and the snot nose kids on Xbox Live, it's refreshing to play with other mature players who have some civility with other...
Exactly!
I had access to some games and felt bad about playing them. When Steam introduced their Holiday sale I quickly bought those games that I enjoyed.
Usually I only purchase a couple of games a year since I'm not as into gaming as I once was anymore. Now when I hear about great...
So my Game Progress is 50.74% complete. I've started to concentrate on the main story. My question is once I finish the main story can I still continue to play and work on all the side missions?
Hope so. I spent $20 on this game, Steam had it for just over $7 recently (a steal), but I...
I had the same problem too! Just install the program first. Reboot if asked. Then double click on the registration file and reboot again. I had to click on the registration file again and reboot to finally get it to unlock it.
Mirror's Edge for PC $7.35
Just saw at Amazon.com a great deal on a very fun game.
Grand Theft Auto IV for PC $17.99
Other link.
I played and loved Mirror's Edge, but I haven't played GTA IV yet so now's the time to get it.
I just saw a display that my local Fry's in Anaheim had on display showing the difference between 60hz, 120hz, and 240hz with Samsung HDTV LCDs playing a BluRay movie.
The 60Hz had noticeable lag and jittering during camera sweeps and action sequences.
The 120Hz was very good with only...
Thanks to the OP, I just picked one up a my local Fry's in Anaheim. There was only three left! I'll use this for a few days before I decide to keep it or return it. So far I like it but I have to get used to the slightly raised spacebar, CTRL, Windows Keys, and ALT Keys.
Coming from my...
3D laptops and computers seems a bit gimmicky until there are some real great apps or games that take advantage of this tech. I rather wait until that happens before buying.
But if you do, please post a review back here.
When I walked over to the Mac display area to fondle the machines, I noticed all the iMac display models were absent. It seemed pretty unusual because they seem to be slow bringing out new merchandise in general. Normally on their vast shelves you can always find antiquated electronics mixed...
