I'm trying to replace my seven year old Asus VG248QE (1080p, TN) and it hasn't been an enjoyable experience. I was initially going to go with a VA panel but after reading the issues with black smearing I settled with IPS. I've only had one experience with IPS in the past. I tried a model from...
I'm using this motherboard for the new build in my sig. It seems to perform well so far. I haven't tried any OC yet.
It does have one glaring issue though...
"ASUS supports a feature known sometimes as "fan smoothing". Sometimes this is only adjustable as a single value. In this case it’s...
We have an extradition treaty with the U.S. It has nothing to do with the Prime Minister.
You may want to look up some facts next time before crying about Trudeau.
The update may be free, but with the exorbitant price of all the new items you either have to devote your life to playing the game or shell out money for shark cards.
Rockstar did. They went from one of my favorite developers to one of the most hated. Most of this "free" content costs way more...
Wait, that was a thing? Guess I totally missed it.
These fall and winter sales with their new format were the first Steam sales ever where I didn't buy anything. I still prefer the old style.
Just when you think RockStar couldn't possibly get any more stupid...

It seems the new patch broke shader injectors also, unless I'm having some other sort of problem.
I patched the game and loaded up my save just fine. Then I saved and quit and when I tried to load the game again it kept locking up. If I remove the injector it works.
I was really enjoying...
Impatiently waiting for my boxed version pre-order to get here. I guess another day or two won't kill me since I've already been waiting 574 days since initial release. I just hope my 660 Ti can handle it.
Heh. I was just going to edit my last post with another option. Get the Z97-A, keep using my Prelude, take the $55 I would save and put it towards a new sound card at a later date.
The only thing that bugs me about the Z97-A, and it's something totally superficial, is the PCI slots that I...
Thanks for the suggestions. I had looked at the Z97-A but I was leaning towards the Z97-Pro because of the better audio codec. However, the Z97-A has PCI slots so I could continue to use my Auzentech X-Fi Prelude. Auzentech seems to be dead though, so it might be a good idea to drop the card...
Would like to. Nothing extreme though.
RAID = No. Firewire = No. Crossfire = No. SLI = Maybe in the future. USB 3.0 = Yes. SATA 6Gb/s = Yes. eSATA = Would be nice but not required. Onboard video = No. UEFI = Yes.
True, I could probably get less expensive RAM. I would like to stick with...
Primary use will be for gaming. Max budget is around $775.
I'm thinking about maybe getting the 16GB of ram and the 4690k. I could probably OC the 4690 to 4790 speeds.
I'm assuming the 2MB of cache and the difference in Hyper-Threading wouldn't make much difference for gaming anyways.
Hey all. It's been almost five years since I had my last major PC build and I think it's time for a new one. I'm looking at a new motherboard, cpu and ram. My current computer in my signature will have things like the video card, psu, hdd reused in the new build. I also purchased a SAMSUNG 840...
My monitor was delivered on Friday and I set it up on Saturday.
AG coating isn't too bad it's only really noticeable if I get close to the screen and stare at one place.
Response time isn't that much different than my Samsung. Only minor ghosting if I really look for it.
Colors are...
