Main difference - not just faster but compatible. I'm not even going to pretend that Intel graphics are compatible with anything newer than a year later, because they have issues. AMD has graphics driver issues, as does NVidia on occasion, but compared to Intel drivers? Honey, you will be...
I do hope AMD brings something competitive again, and SOON! Maybe since Raja is gone, somebody might actually let Vega out of the box.
Or maybe it is ... kind of underwhelming.
I think that nVidia is making a mistake. If 30% of your profit comes from a certain segment, you don't disrupt it. Much like "Never interrupt an enemy when he is making a mistake" "Don't fix what isn't broken" is a strong reflection.
On board sound on my old Gigabyte 2500K system (It's old!) was horrible when my ASUS Xonar DGX bit the dust in the great apocalypse of PSU failure, so I picked one of these.
It's called a DreamBass Genie. For a $14 USB sound solution, it's actually pretty good. It has an amp, and paired...
The writing was on the wall even two years ago that 4GB of RAM wasn't nearly enough for the future. I expect we will see 8 GB being the bare minimum moving forward in late 2018. Add a few mods to AAA titles, and you can sink a lot of cards that don't have 8 GB's even now in late 2017.
Waving prototypes and PowerPoint slides of glory do not mean on the shelf ability to have cards ready to sell and take home. AMD has nothing on the shelf, either.
Maybe I'm an old fart, but 2k is fine for me, too. It seems to be the current sweet spot while still allowing the settings to be cranked. I do second the folks that mentioned a pair of used 980Ti's - those ARE going to last for quite a while, and if you already have one, just grab another one...
I got my RX 480 MSI Gaming X 8GB on a steal because I had some gift cards that were about to expire and they had to be spent. $30-ish bucks extra, and it was in my hands. I couldn't get a 1060 6GB because there were none, and 1070's were still +$130 more at that time.
I cannot say that I am...
Well, where are the sub $400 1070's? Is it a conspiracy to acknowledge reality?
It might not be a reality you would prefer to be expressed, noted and identified, but that doesn't make it one hair less reality.
AMD is guilty, too. Both companies paper launched.
They are trying to unload last years hardware by preventing us from buying the new stuff without a premium price. I give no fucks about old hardware, I want the new stuff. It's obvious they are playing games with stock.
Robbing us without even holding a knife or a gun .
You are in good company. This stingy release of boards to people has gotten downright ugly. Both parties are culpable - neither of them have enough to put on shelves, but if they do, they are just letting themselves linger so old stock (that people rightfully left on the shelf) will sell.
I'm...
