Back in the day ... we used to do things like ... covert folding for another teammate. It used to get some folders all weirded out ... "OMG! All of a sudden I have 10 more cpu's folding for me ... what's going on?" Funny as hell. I think that might be what has relic convinced that the count is...
Welcome back Rottweiler!
Good to get back in the fold again huh. I just came back a few days ago too and received the same warm welcome you did. This is a great bunch!
GG
My last major folding was done in 2003 when I hit 300k. Since then, I have been unable to run my dedicated folding machines (mainly athlons). I kept one or two processors folding since then, and for the past 18 months, I was playing (... addicted to?) WoW.
Situation on the homefront is going...
./sniff ... all these names that are coming back to me know. I'm getting old but the names are coming back to me ... Tiger, Kstar, Gnewbury, Smoke, Celerator, Killer. Great to be back in the [H]orde fold.
Thanks for the info Gnewbury ... who here still folds nekkid boxen? I have not been able...
Yeesh, a guy can't even leave fah for a little while to level his horde warlock without getting his ass kicked by noobs! Where did all these **millions** of points come from? I can't even log into foldingathomedotcom (forgot password) to see how many points I have now. Yeesh. All these new names...
1. I would have to upgrade my mobo and peripherals from a S939 3500+ to accomadate the new raw power, then I would do the video transfer to dvd project (homemade family vids) I have not got around to yet.
2. Phenom.
Nah, no shiny beads or trinkets for me - you can send me a shiny epic from SSC or 2,000,000 FAH points. Your choice!
Good to see the old gang getting back together. And that Blues Brothers movie was the best!
GG.
Sumbitch ... relic's back! woot, woot. If he's coming back, so am I.
Thanks for the heads-up majic!!

Hey peeps, wassup?
GG
I don't speak on Relic's behalf, but I think that he would be the first to agree that no one folder is THE team, that the [H]ard team is a great bunch of peeps, that the slaying of the beast is what matters, however, I am beginning to get a sick feeling in my stomach over the tone of the last...
My suggestion was made as there is certainly a movement these days for the [H] team to be above reproach, not to undertake any action that would bring shame to the team, or put the [H] team in any bad light. A vacation at another DC-folding team forum would certainly qualify as putting us in a...
I do not believe this ... is this a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Come on ... Kodiakstar trying to be the voice of reason? Hey Kodiak, can you post over at OCAU, or maybe, perhaps, you are STILL BANNED?
I could not let this one go unanswered.
I read that thread and you are correct - the situation is not the same at all. I also agree with you about how the taunts are getting out of hand. I like this rivalry to stay friendly.
I do disagree with you guys getting your shirt tied in a know about these folding names. I think it is...
I changed my CP to suppress signatures, and I changed the sort order of threads yesterday (so it now shows earliest to oldest), and after making those two changes, the threads are still showing as NOT read when I finish reading them. Any advice?
All was working well before the changes. I made...
So ... what ... are you a socialist now? ......... This "ALL" comment wouldn't have come from the original AM that was a 'take no prisoners' [H]folder 2 years ago.
Come on, what have you done with our real AM?? You got him locked in a magic chest? You will run out of polyjuice sooner or...

That's a negative. No one can go and just change our practices willy-nilly. IT IS ALL RELIC'S FAULT.
He may not be around much (or at all), but we remember him in spirit. Always.

you have to run fah to have your computer work on the stanford work unit. EM3 is just a(n essential) monitoring program to let you know the progress of the wu and...
BillR : cause he is always helpful, really helpful at that Place-That-Must-Not-Be-Named here. Always ready to give advice and assistance to those needing folding help, or building a new boxen. He will even go and dig up web-sites for you, in answer of a question you might have. Yip, BillR. All...
45 degrees! F o r t y f i v e degrees! Man, that is cold. I keep it at 62, which I thought was chea..... thrifty. All the more power to you bud.
Ciao for now ...
What exactly were you doing this weekend Mr Atomic-DC-Forum-Moderator-Trying-to-be-a-Postive-Role-Model-Moose? Were you in Sweden this weekend? and imbibing a little too much? or is this your brother and his g/f??? We want to know Moose. Here is the news story that has caught my interest...
Don't ask me fellas how all of a sudden I got to 244k. I am sure that I was around 230k when I threw my hat into the ring. I seem to recall Stanford did something that was retroactive with previous wu's turned in and not properly credited, or something along those lines. Anyway, I am sure that I...
I am laughing so hard that my stomach is hurtin!!
This has got to be one of those stories that gets put up in the hall of memories -- just like Relic's mojo story, Relics' I-found-a-dually-in-the-closet-bin-there-since-xmas-and-its-june-now story, the drug bust story from Mike, and some...
I started folding in July 2002, after I read Kyle's article in CPU Magazine. I joined the [H]orde for the science, with my two machines then.
But now I fold for the competition and the points -- that's why I bought 4 more machines.
We all have our reasons as to why we stay around...
If someone sneakernetted wu's around a home lan (let's say), wouldn't that be cheating? What I am thinking about is to d/l a wu from Stanford on machine A, let machine A crunch it for a bit, then transfer the wu data over to machine B, let machine A d/l another w/u, and repeat with machine C...
That was a great story!! It was pimped on the frontpage of [H]ardOCP, and then you could practically sit back, press the F5 key every second and the view count just never stopped going up. It was hilarious (the story and the instant fame the story received).
It's too bad those stories of old...
I am around these days. Misplaced my password ......... my few folding machines are down ........... no hope soon of getting an internet connection ..... yumpin yimminee, I haven't even looked at a folding stats page for 2 months .................... somebody please put me out of my misery...
Well, if I had to help another folder, and the only choice was between K* and dr_k13, I would choose KodiakStar I guess. So, I might be able to find a few machines to throw on the pile on behalf of KodiakStar. He's a half-decent shit!!

Yup, what ^^^ he said!
In folding, more is better!! And there are different terms to be used -- small garden, garden, small farm, farm. Check out the faq's at the top of the page where there is legend of definitions that we use.
Glad to have you on board. Now remember, borg, borg, borg...
