Well acra2 I think you've gotten something mistaken as they're not reviewing the game itself, but the card that runs the game. If you're looking as to whether a game is good or not then that's a different site.
That said I really appreciate the manner that they review video cards here as...
The pay one. Ad Aware Plus and above, the free one doesn't come with it.
I never used it because it's very annoying lol. I think it only covers certain areas though I don't think it does the whole registry.
You know I got into a discussion about nod32 a few days ago over at rage3d alot of people were saying it sucked because some guy had 7 trojans in a zip file and nod missed three of them.
All 3 were incomplete seperate parts that could be used in trojans but weren't trojans at all, so I tried...
Actually true ITW I would fare NOD32 just as good as kaspersky tbh. Remember I never said nod 32 sucks just that kaspersky has more stuff in it's database(which is what I meant by detection rate).
I'm just paranoid so I like something that covers the whole spectrum, even if the chances of me...
So?
All it takes is one false positive to fail the VB Test.
Infact lets take wilders favorite AV NOD32 for example and thier new advanced heuristics engine that's so widely touted. Yep the one that stopped bugbear or bagle before they even had definitions for it(I forget which worm it was...
F-Secure detects more stuff than nod32 does, but nod32 is alot lighter on resources than f-secure.
Only you can decide which thing is a higher priority for yourself. I personally would choose F-Secure.
Other honorable mentions are Kaspersky(which F-Secure is based off), and the one I'm...
Both my local wal-marts carry it so you may try there, also maybe thier on-line store as well.
(this is of course assuming you're in America if not I got nothing)
I like Nod32 and used it for about a year until version 2 came out. One of thier PCU updates totally made nod32 unable to work on my computer. I tried with all the windows updates without and narrowed it down to 2 updates that were critical updates for XP that made it to where nod32 wouldn't...
I'd try running a panda scan. Free from http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm
In addition I would download the trial of TDS-3, manually update your system and run it as well. Make sure to turn on all the scan options under scan control before you do so...
Be prepared to pay, and I mean pay big for that little driver for DOS. The free version only allows you to read the ntfs partition, you have to buy the paid version to actually write to it, which means you won't be fixing any errors by DOS.
If you're just doing stuff like that, not hosting a real page or anything you could probably get by with just analog X's simple simple server.
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/sswww.htm
TDS-3 or trojan hunter. BOClean will also stop it but BOClean is a memoru resident anti-trojan it has no scanner at all. I love BOClean though, small, fast, and works, but if you want something that you can scan stuff with I say TDS-3.
But yeah back orriface, any AV should get that one...
OK.
Try and run CWS Shredder. I don't have a link handy but google pulls it up. Cool web search is one nasty spyware.
Also it really would help if you told us what website your homepage gers directed to. There's tons of different spyare out there so that kind of info woulkd help immensly.
Currently I'm using McAfee VS 8.
I will probably switch though because McAfee VS 8 is inferior to VS 7 but I'm in no hurry because the detection and protection is still there in 8 it's just missing alot of functionality that 7 had. they really over simplified the whole damn thing way too...
Click here for 1024X768 pic of bloodrayne taken from bloodrayne.com (that wasn't so hard to find). Basically she's a teenage vampire lovers wet dream, the character seems made for adolescents lol.
Here's one of Rose McGowan one of my other pics.
Not working, right here...
No if they made it faithful to the show(i.e. the hair) then I don't think she'd fit.
I really don't think a hispanic with red hair would make the fans happy(no offence meant to any hispanics).
I don't think Eliza could really do red hair either. Jennifer Gardner kinda pulled it off in...
How About:
Eliza Dushku - You know her as Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Michelle Rodriguez - She was in Resident Evil the movie
Milla Jovovich was already mentioned as Jennifer Garner both good choices as well.
I think there was some kind of error when they made the CD's because mine has the same issue.
We couldn't play Yuri's Revenge at all and my PC kept crashing with plain RA2.
Using Daemon Tools totally fixed it for some reason.
Make sure the parent folder isn't read only.
For instance if all the mainn folders at c: are read only like c:\windows, c:\documents and settings, and c:\program files and they were set to read only and applied the attributes to all subfolders than everytime you cange one of those subfolders...
I know Norton Professional(note the proffesional part) comes with two licenses, not sure about the other AV's as I didn't look into that stuff when I trialed them all.
Norton ain't bad but I'd stay away from the 2004 version because of weired drm issues and it being the same thing as 2003...
The immunize stuff works pretty well, but it only immunizes you for what Spybot can already clean, but nonetheless it's good to use to keep from getting infected with the same thing again.
The first part puts a kill bit in the registry for all known spyware activeX programs. What this does...
I think you got the link wrong.
abcdefgh...
Nice proof of concept.
BTW the NOD32 trojan stuff I thought that was common knowledge. They mention it alot of at the NOD32 official forums at www.wilders.org and if you put nod in any test with trojans it does worse than say VB100 tests...
NOD 32 scores lower in broad tests because it's trojan detection isn't up to suite with kaspersky, Dr. Web, McAfee, Norton and co.
Purely Virus speaking NOD32 rocks but they've always been weak in the trojan department. Recently they've started beefing up thier trojan detection so look for...
Norton Antivirus and Symantec Antivirus are tow totally different things man. Symantec is awesome compared to Norton.
I know I didn't go into Norton like I did Mcafee but here goes. Norton 2003 and 2004 are both very solid products but norton 2004 has DRM issues which keep it working for...
Wow so maximum PC's the authority on virii huh?
McAfee detects more malware than norton, in all the real virii tests not the likes of PC Mag or maximum PC.
Now I agree McAfee VS8 is kinda crappy and if you read my post you'd see why, but it does detect more than Norton.
You can tell...
OK.
First off McAfee's virus scanning engine is superior than Norton so McAfee gets the nod in Virus Scan Engine comparisons, but:
Virus Scan 8 is a heavily stripped down and retarded version of McAfee Virus Scan 7. It has half the options of VS7, and twice the problems. Even though...
I don't know other reasons why it'd happen to be honest.
As to it being recoverable it's possible. If you can borrow someones XP cd then he'll have two options.
1st is the recovery console. There was a way to pretty much make XP install itself again from the cd but leaving all your...
If he didn't get an actual microsoft windows XP CD-Rom then he can't do what it says.
Basically he needs to get an XP Home CD from somewhere if he wants to do that.
But as to why it's doing what he does does he have an ATI video card?
If so this may be why...
Actually wouldn't it be better for you to just rename the old IT's guys account to you?
At least that way all the permissions and everything would be intact you wouldn't have to configure anything.
In my opinion renaming accounts is easier than deleting old ones and creating new ones...
AvantBrowser uses internet explorer but add tons of new features(including a pop-up killer) so you might wanna give it a try.
http://www.avantbrowser.com/
That is messenger service psam not actual spyware.
You either need to configure your firewall properly(or get one) or disable the messenger service. The messenger service is not related in any way to MSN or Microsoft messenger so if you use either of these programs they will still work...
What you should do is some basic internet explorer hardening.
First make sure you're always up to date with patches for XP and internet explorer from windows update.
Then I'd move on over to the advanced tab and uncheck "install on demand (internet explorer)", "install on demand (other)"...
Well you can try doing this too speed up acrobat:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,8821215~mode=flat
I would replace OfficeXP if you don't need Access with either 602PC Suite (free and fast) http://www.software602.com/products/pcs/business.html or Open Office (free but BIG)...
Well I know for a fact that the Nforce3 only has a half speed hypertransport link, but maybe I was fooled on thier pci/agp lock but I really think they do have it.
As for Via having pci/agp locks I think you're wrong and don't have them.
"As for your inability to tweak the frequencies of...
True
Un true. The Nforce3 chipset has a locked PCI/AGP but has a halfspeed hypertransport link. The Via chipsets cannot lock PCI/agp speeds but have a full speed hypertransport link.
The Sis 755 chipset has neither of those limitations but unfortunately only ECS(crappy low price maker)...
