Oh.
Geez, that's counterintuitive. (rofl)
So a group buy for eye protection would probably go under the various Hobbies sections, yes? (Asking before I go for a personal record of three threads deleted in one day.)
This model specifically, at the place where I work.
$4 apiece. If you want one of the other ones on that page, $5.50 apiece.
Flat shipping of $5 to anywhere CONUS, unless you're actually in the Raleigh, NC areain that case, no shipping, I'll just drive it over to you.
If interested, PM...
External baby. :) Keep in mind, with meter-long cables, if you stick the drives outside of the chassis, there's PLENTY of room to rack and cool all of the drives.
Might want something a little more robust than RAID5 or 6 with that many drives, lol
It doesn't add anything new, other than allowing use of the cruise control buttons for changing sensitivity on the fly.
OK, fine, 1600 dpi resolution. It's still LED-based; why didn't they use the laser?
Meantime, MX6xx is rumored to be the number series for the wired lasermice; maybe...
1.) I don't think so
2.) Allows multiple computers to connect through one physical connection (Network Address Translation). Also acts as a local DHCP server.
3.) Pretty much.
4.) Don't see why not, unless they specifically say so. Routers are generally transparent to both their uplink...
Run more than one CPU-intensive app at once.
But yeah, it would be nice if more apps were written to be multithreaded, but that's a programming headache.
RAID's only dual with pretty basic setups. RAID5 is at least three drives, RAID6 is at least four.
As for multiprocessor, dual's (once again) the lowest number.
The idea for most things (aside from SLI, I guess) is "multi", not so much "dual".
Try the DB against an MX510; I also considered the MX1000 rather sluggish (and not even necessarily with fast-paced games), which I attributed simply to being wireless.
Might want to just go to a beefier passive HS; Asus isn't known for undercooling chipsets, and quite frankly, the presence of a passive (as opposed to active) chipset cooler is a happy thing.
Looks so. I only see one full-size PCIe slot. ;)
nForce4 = Plain-vanilla, basic featureset for budget/mainstream
nForce4 Ultra = Full set except for SLI, for power users and most enthusiasts
nForce4 SLI = Full set, for people with lots of money
Sounds right. Some places here are actually selling near MSRP (MSRP is $200, if I remember right), but most are still up over $250 as per market demand.
That's really weird. What are the full specs? Even a GF4MX can overheat under bad enough conditions and crash. But if it's just "at full load" and nothing's really using the card, it sounds more like a CPU or RAM problem than a graphics card problem.
Specifically, give us:
-Cooling setup...
I got some time to game with an MX1000 recently...and I will allow that it's the best wireless mouse I've ever used.
But it still feels like a wireless mouse to me.
When I'm not gaming, however, it's a beaut; the MX700 had just enough lag to be irritating in normal Windows GUI tasks, the...
Again, read that parts list, it's just a list of what I would buy at the particular price point. Including a pretty nice monitor. (Viewsonic VP171s)
19" LCDs strike me as one of the worst values out there, because they usually have the same native resolutions as 17-inchers, AND have slower...
I'm putting together a buyers' guide, put it that way. And I just made that one today. :p I'd buy it if I had the money!
Note that a PCIe 6800 is about $340 or so; a 6600GT can be overclocked to performance levels similar to vanilla 6800s, but 6800s can be overclocked too. Your call.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like you even need to upgrade at all. How about going to a cheaper Athlon64 (a 3000+) and a Chaintech NF4/Ultra board?
...
Then again, you would need to get a new PCI-Express graphics card. Hmm...
Chaintech was notoriously anti-DualNet back in the nForce and nForce2 days.
But anyway, at $120, I wonder if that'll become the next NF7-S or (DUH DUH DUH) A7N8X Deluxe, for Socket 939.
Damn, they're not even close to MSRP. NCIX lists them at $215 (I think Asus MSRP is right around $200?), but they're out of stock.
They also have Gigabyte's board (not Ultra or SLI), out of stock at the moment though.
Same. I'd say expect your stuff within three or so business days of their leaving Newegg; and I've never had anything arrive any later than five business days after shipping.
