Thank you for your suggestions. This PC is the wife's. It's not up-gradable to Windows 11 so I might just get her a new one and use this one as a Linux box.
I assume this is a PCIe x4 connector? The PC is a Dell Inspiron 24 5488 AIO.
You say a PCIe NVMe drive, which will never work in a SATA port, no matter the adapter, yet I am
seeing a lot of articles on "replace a sata HDD with NVMe SSD?" ? I'm confused.
I am trying to replace the HD disk drive with an SSD. I thought there was a place to plug the NVMe m.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 SSD on the mother board but I was wrong.
So I am thinking the adapter pictured above for $29.99 would work?

Unfortunately I got the motherboard config wrong so I think I need one of these but not sure which one? I’m thinking the bottom one for $29.99? Is that right...
