one has dual lan....but really whats the difference? the first one has 2 pci-e slots but isnt SLI? is that basically the gist of things?
I tried taking the ram out and I finally got an error beep. However the beep code it gave me said that there wasnt a video card inserted. When I booted it without a video card I didnt get anything at all.
checked for it, didnt find anything
I read around some other forums and took their advice. I took the video card out trying to see if I could get an error beep but I got nothing.
its got an AMD 3700+, Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe , nvidia 6800gs, 1gig of Corsair XMS. It all runs on a 500w Antec SmartPower.
I put the thing together today and got it all set up but when I turn it on I get a blank screen. All the fans are spinning, the cd-rom lights up, and the motherboard has its...
the Venice is $20 cheaper but I could OC the thing up to match the San Diego's performance
is the San Diego worth the extra $20?
also any recommendations on a board? I was considering the Asus A8N-SLI, DFI nF4 SLI, or maybe the cheaper Gigabyte GA-K8N Pro-SLI. I wont be doing much...
actually notice that the Creative MuVo N200 there has a screen, microphone, a line-in jack for direct recording, and an FM tuner. It also gets 15 hours of battery life and Creative has tended to be either about dead on or conservative in their battery life estimates. My Zen Touch is rated at...
heh i've got a box full of the stuff. i on an average month put 2-3 systems together for people but i always go with boxed processors and use the stock hs/f. i havent bought an OEM chip in years :p
i almost positive i'm gonna be goin with the Asus board.
but now my question is, is that if i buy the chip OEM what kind of cooling solution should i use?
well I think the time to upgrade has come
current specs are in my sig. let me tell you why i've finally decided to upgrade. First let me just say that my motherboard sucks. One day it up and decided that it doesnt have onboard RAID (when you can visually see it has the slots for it and...
old ones you could
they modified them about 2 months ago so they cant take standard cf cards anymore. the MuVo2 FM though is shipping with the ability to use the 5gig drive as a CF drive.
some more Zen love here :). greatest sound and built like a brick :D
personally im waiting on the Zen Media Center to replace my Zen. video, images, and music all for the price of the ipod .
and word of advice. stay away from archos unless you like RMA numbers and being put on...
well unless you disable the onboard sound the onboard chip will still be processing. by puting in a sound card without disabling the onboard sound you're almost guranteed to have conflict errors pop up
sound cards will give you an increase anyways since they take work off of the other components by doing all the sound processing onboard
thats my dumbed down explination of things :p
well i didnt own any stock before they bought em but i sure do now :D (and im up a dollar to boot!)
and the price thing i dont fully get considering for the past 3 cards the newer has been cheaper then the previous one. the ZS for example was $100 retail compared to the Audigy 2's $120. but...
socks it to em using creative technology! Creative bought sensura, the company that did the stuff for nvidia, m-audio, via, etc.
EXCELLENT business move on their part considering how much it cost em.
the stock stuff in my 01 dodge stratus sounds better then the $1100 bose option in my grandfathers car. then again i've found my stock speakers sound way better then a lot of speakers out there :p.
1. volume is based on what you plug into. with headphones i dont usually go over 20 but while in the car or somewhere i tend to turn it higher
2. and i know it supports it, its how it works is the problem. the zen for example lets you throw in whatever you want and remove what you dont...
i've used all three. owned an ipod for a bit and own a Zen now. my brother has the Dell DJ and i've stolen it a few times to play with it
first off the zen wins on sound. out of the box headphones the ipod wins but pair them with some decent headphones the zen pulls ahead. the Zen and DJ...
no player is the best. its all a matter of opinion. you buy a zen for its sound and sound related options, you buy a iriver if you want ogg support, you buy a karma if you want FLAC support and its neat little network features. you buy an ipod if you wanna join the crowd.
and at least the...
woah a corvette way to go im impressed  simply holding something and more then likely using a 128kbps mp3 with the stock headphones is all that you need to make a solid decision!!! YOU SHOUD DO A REVIEW ON IT SINCE YOU KNOW SO MUCH AND HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME USING IT!!
ipod zealots...
when a company advertises a product the product usually sells
look at the marketshare creative DOES have and look at how much they actually market their mp3 player line. im not seein any zen billboards, tv commericlas, or tons of magazines with zen ads in em
zen xtra is smaller then the zen usb2.0 was buddy
overall theres like a half inch of difference if you add their dimensions up. and believe me, the zen with 100mW output, 98db, 14hr REMOVABLE batteries, along with features that actually deal with sound make it a win. i've owned both and...
