This is a link to the information on how to access the service menu.

And this is how you exist the service menu...
Has anyone looked into having their 38GL firmware updated by an LG repair center since it seems LG (NVidia?) has prevented end-users from updating? Is there anything to be gained by an update?
Awesome! I feel foolish for not just removing the shroud from mine before going ahead and watercooling it! Maybe I should undo my waterblock and plumbing and try reinstalling the fan with the shroud removed...
"You need to move the cursor down to the bottom of the service menu where there isn't any option (blank) then power cycle."
In case anyone is wondering watercooling my GL950G now has the die temp at 40C but most importantly, no fan noise at all.
Does anyone know how to exit service menu? I've just finished my fan-delete project but I'm stuck in the service menu!
I think I'm in the AGING screen, the one that walks around the border of the screen showing the temp and fan status. I can't escape.
Yup, i'd also expect full software control. But another reason for the USB cable is to work as a "passthrough" for USB decides plugged into the monitor. For example I have a USB headtracking camera and a USB webcam plugged into my 38GL.
38GL here as well and I opened my OnScreen Control to check, I also get the 2nd screen. Why do you think you should be seeing the first? After previously having a Dell ultrawide, and currently having 2 dell ultrawides, the LG onscreen control is annoying and I just don't use it. Disappointing.
Speaking of wishlists, yes it'd be nice to have more 38" options but now that I've finally settled on a 38GL it'd be nice to see a 42" version, just stretched out the 24:10 some more.
You think there will be a flood to large, curved ultrawide monitors? Mainly because the next gen of GPU's will support HDMI 2.1 and that will somehow create more demand for large, high-performance gaming monitors?
Amazing! Thank you for the heads-up! I've been struggling with coping with the 38GL fan so I just placed an order on costco.com for the 38GN. Now I can compare side-by-side to my heart's content and eventually sleep easy at night with my choice.
I read through this thread and took their advice. I bought 2 replacement fans and took apart my 38GL950G down to the mainboard with gysync module and fan. The gsync fan makes a hissing noise even as you spin it by hand. Then I took each of the 2 replacements fans and spun them in my hand and...
Thanks for the heads up. For a while I was looking for LG 38GL950G 'drivers' because all my previous Dell displays would have drivers that I would install and then point Windows 10 at the correct directory to use them. For the 38GL I guess as long as NVIDIA control panel sees the monitor it's...
I hear mine during quiet-time: work/non-gaming operation and I also hear it at night when the monitor is off. In fact I hear it 8 hours later when I wake up and I'm getting ready to start my day. The fan never stops. I can't believe this.
Initiated a return on my $1800 GL950 so I have about a week left to send it in, meanwhile purchased the $1600 GL950 while they were on sale from lg.com. My GL950 is on for ~14 hours day and half the time is for work with my PC in quiet mode; the fan noise is always noticeable like a hissing...
Hi all, suddenly dead x570 aorus master here. I signed up on this forum and posted my problem here. I'll paste it below too.
So confused. Specs at bottom. Went to bed last night after a normal day of working, normal/VR gaming, and folding@home, woke up today and PC won't start, red LED that...
update:
Just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Gigabyte technical support trying all sorts of things; removing ram, reseating CPU, removing CMOS battery multiple times. Tech support eventually told me they have to end the call since it has been so long but that I should try another...
update: added a troubleshooting step #6. So confused. Specs at bottom. Went to bed last night after a normal day of working, normal/VR gaming, and folding@home, woke up today and PC won't start, red LED that usually lights the motherboard power button is not lit. What I expect to see: red LED on...
