I was going to buy a mounting bracket for my venemous x as its still a beaut. ended up being about £25 all told so i bit the bullet on the new AM4 D15.

My 1700 (asus B350 prime) is prime 95 stable (12 hours) @ 1.41, 4ghz. I do hate that program. 80 degs peak on a D15 with liquid metal! I will measure wattage delta over the weekend. It can make 4.1 and boot to 4.2 but the voltage to get it stable would probably be hilarious.

The 1700 is the one to get for you guys hell bent on AMD, they all overclock the same. ^^ Hopefully the platform matures and they eek a few more ghz out. Feels a bit late to be buying into 1151 as i presume a modified socket for coffee cake.

Seen 4.4 so far on 1800x.

Bad overclock, Bad heat even with soldered TIM, OC benchmarks dont appear to be beating stock 7700k with an extra 1ghz of headroom. Good price though. Bah! (wccftech article) I was really looking forward to it, but not so sure now!!! Clock speed is still king for the time being in desktop...
