The Nintendo 64 Classic Could Be Arriving Soon

I had a chuckle at "Mario 64 speedruns" :) I am a terrible player these days with my vision. It's purely the FEEL of it. It was just perfect. I tried mario kart powersliding with some a) old worn original controllers b) Some new copies and it was so much more difficult. My thumb just knew it...

The Nintendo 64 Classic Could Be Arriving Soon

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how critical the controller is - it is almost impossible to get a quality original controller with a fully functional thumbstick, and no copy, or modern version, comes close to the feel. Games just are not the same without it.

Nvidia Stock Falls Following Turing Reviews

You my friend, have investing bang on. Low cost index mutual funds are where 99% of people should be. A 60/40 stock bond mix and just forget about it. I'm like 60% in amazon, but that is because I'm a bit nuts. I'd be wary of ETFs myself...my feeling is (invisible) frictional costs are much...

    Help: Laptop for visually impaired

Hi all, My brother is looking for a laptop and he shares my condition. Relevant things: a) large screen preferred b) He has used matt screen finishes in the past but really liked the clarity of my glossy screen so he's open to trying the latter and simply angle away from glare. c) full size PC...

Watch Elon Musk's "Boring" Tunnel System Speed Cars along at 130 MPH

This appears to require drivers to take themselves to the side and "park". Given that 5% of the population seems to need 20+ attempts to put their car in a space, I can imagine those 3 point turns on a highway causing mass destruction. I guess by then it may be automated though....

Tesla Employee Writes of Low Wages, Poor Morale

I wouldn't worry so much. Work is not part of nature, it is to some extent a man made concept. With increased technology, automation, and lower costs, it is entirely feasible that a small proportion of the population can produce enough to cater for the welfare of the rest. It's harder for...

Clueless Gamer Super Bowl Edition: For Honor

I haven't really kept up with fighting games since the days of Tekken II / Street fighter / Mortal Kombat etc but the gameplay on this looks like a huge step backward if this is representative..

If A Self-Driving Car Kills A Pedestrian, Who Is At Fault?

General insurance should cover accidents, in principle - ie general taxation pool or industry insurance scheme paid for eg by a tax on car purchases or road licences. All participants should then be subject to regulatory oversight and control. The (smaller amount of) accidents should be...

Researchers Create Batteries From Nuclear Waste and Diamonds

Similarly I'm wondering where the positive/negative can be in a "diamond battery".

    27" glossy FHD recommendation please

Hi all, For reasons I won't bore you with I want a native low resolution monitor. One with as good a display as possible (brightness, contrast), that is 27" and has a glossy screen. I don't care about lag, as I don't game. Ideally with a decent quality stand that can adjust vertically but...
