What did you succeed using the backplate with Z270I?
When I tried to use it, in several different ways it conflicted with components mounted on the motherboard so I couldn't fit it properly !?
Just want to inform Dan that I would be interested in a greater heatsink if the project succeeds with its goals.
Unfortunately I am one of them....you know...one of those Asus Strix z270I owners so that would be a requirement from my side, don't see me replacing that MB anytime soon.
I have not...
Think this would be really cool and I would support it!
I guess compatibility would be really challenging since there are memory of all heights and different motherboard layouts which you have to take in account but a manufacturer like Noctua would be able to help with compatibility issues.
What do you guys think of 7700 instead of 7700K? I looks like 7700K runs really hot according to the document in the last page or so?
Several of guys seem to have attached an Noctua fan to a C7, what kind of solution are you using? Zip-Tie or something better?
Just want to update you guys that several of us HAPPY Swedes have received the "shipping confirmation" email from Dan the last day so he is working hard burning through the kickstarter shipping list!
So exited!!!
Your components seem to be quite like what I have, are going for.
I am not sure about the Blower Style GPU and I don't seem to be alone in this thread. I have a Strix 1080 already.
I you don't have it yet I would wait for comments from users in this thread when system are built.
This was...
Yeah, RGB lightning, "love" to pay for that :( reminds me of when I bought my TV, had to waste lot of money on features that I didn't want like 3D, DVR functionality etc just to get a good one.
Talk about disappointment when finally Kaby Lake arrived with pricing and Asus Strix Z270I Gaming MB was missing in action :(
It looks really good though and I guess there are some weeks before we finally will get our cases so Asus got some time to release it.
Thank you for the kickstarter update Dan!
The Bad thing are that we are not getting an awesome christmas present.
The good thing are that we are getting a delayed awesome christmas present and that maybe we will have more information and availability of Samsung 960, Kabylake, H/Z270 MBs so we...
Haven't heard about 961 until you mentioned it :O Doesn't seem to available yet (Atleast not in my country)? Only two retailers even mentions it so far :( and the Intel one are scheduled to be here in a few days. Do we know when 961 will be available?
I might have to buy my new components...
Yeah, this one looks interesting the 512GB seem to have a good price/performance on paper. Hopefully reviews will begin pop up in a few days.
Especially interested in thermals comparing to Samsung 950 series.
Samsung 950
Reading all the comments about using a Samsung 950 mounted under the mobo, consensus seem to be that it will get hot and throttle!?
We are not sure how hot it actually will get and how much it will throttle but a safe (and cheaper) option would be to get another M2 like Samsung 840...
As I said been thinking about 6700 since I want the system reasonable quiet but do we have any idea how much more noise a 6700K (non OC) would make? Cryorig C7 seem to speced for managing that at least or will the Strix 1080 most likely be the loudest component anyway? (I been using it a little...
I thinking about buying the following components for my A4-SFX (If Intel doesn't relase Kabby Lake and there is a reason for that), I have a new Asus 1080 Strix (non OC) already.
ASUS Z170I PRO GAMING
Intel Core i7 6700 3,4 GHz 8MB + Cryorig C7
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18...
Just wanted to register and post and thank you guys for all the A4-SFX Pr0n and I can't wait until I get my A4-SFX this autumn :)
Did watch the LTT video and it was actually quite good for being LTT.
One thing Linus mentioned which I also been thinking about was the Razer Core and that A4-SFX...
