    i7 930 overclocking thread

Added my batch to original post. I think I may have put too much TIM. I'm a bit rusty as this was my first build since my OLD AMD 1700+. How would you go about removing the old TIM? alcohol?

Did I recieve an open box motherboard?

Just got a "new" p6x58d from newegg. A couple of things struck me as odd as I was opening the box. First there was no seal on the box itself, second the static bag that the motherboard is in doesn't have a seal, and the 3 way sli bridge was out of the static bag just chillin. I haven't...

    Relatively Quiet?

Well would the single & triple work out? Would a single / double not be enough? If I need the triple up top I could go with the 840

    Relatively Quiet?

Well sounds like water cooling is the way. So I'm looking at a Cosmos S case, I'm pretty sure I could get a double rad in the top, maybe a triple?? And I know I could fit a single on the outside of the rear. It was suggested above to get 2 triples to do both CPU and gpu, however this has to...

    Relatively Quiet?

Ok so my laptop recently died and I'm thinking of building another desktop. However I'm not really into OC'ing anymore, my biggest concern is that I want it relatively quiet. I stopped using my current desktop because it was so loud. So how loud would a WC setup be to cool a cpu and gpu, say...

    Seagate 1.5TB Firmware Update Fix

Just as I was worried about, I only have a laptop, and ordered the hd for an external case. But I booted off a usb disk anyways, ran the bat file and of course it didn't find it via the usb connection. Any ideas on how I can flash my drive?

    Seagate 1.5TB Firmware Update Fix

I ordered one of these drives the other day and an external case, and I only own a laptop now. I've never booted off of a usb stick to dos, easy enough if my laptop supports, but my question is will the external hd connected via usb to the laptop show up when booting from the stick?

DFI lanparty sees 2700+ as 2100+

well I just noticed that the 2700+ isn't supported on the lanparty....so I guess I'll just have to set the fsb and the multiplier manually. Does anyone know off hand what those would be?
