Necere I noticed there is a USB panel on the front. In your design process have you ever come across a thin or slim USB front panel cable? Everything I have come across, the cables are super bulky, fat, too long, and blue. I have yet to see a "thin" version of this .
Do we really need a window over the GPU? I would much rather opt for a vent over it instead. in my opinion this is a drop in aesthetics over previous mockups.
Necere I think the most frustrating part of this thread is the numerous renders you have posted. You have a great eye for design, and it's sad to see all these amazing renders you post that will never materialize. I agree with what you said, "there are plenty of "exciting" cases on the market...
I wonder if the cost of shipping is to offset manuf. costs. They include a 3M riser cable...which in Sweden costs around 1000kr. Since the case is selling for 1700kr..I find it hard to believe that 700kr covers costs of building.
Ah pity. Be interesting how the results would be with a modern GPU on the LRPC layout. If I recall you were using a 250W gpu. But I guess it makes sense that it didn't go as planned. If you look at the Node 202, which has a similar layout, that thing is horrible with airflow.
How I look at the case: Cool air is coming in from the top, pushing warm air towards the sides. That warm air will be picked up by the GPU?
Is there any sort of "modeling software" that can simulate airflow?
I think the case looks beautiful. I do think an aesthetically pleasing steam machine case is definitely missing in the market. Had a question regarding the PSU. Since we are limited in size of the GPU, most dual 8pin cards will not be useable. That leaves us with ITX based cards which usually...
wahaha360 I had a few questions regarding the prototype.
- If I was interested in making my own aluminum case like yours, and wanted a similar finish, what's the cost of just getting one done?
- I understand that you most likely will accommodate space for a SFXPsu. Would you ever consider...
Hey guys,
I received my Osmi case, and the 19mm Phobya vandal switch is not working...or i can not get it to work. I am sure it is wired correctly, because it is illuminated, but nothing happens when I press the button in. I am only using the positive/negative contacts from the switch to the...
I will be picking up the Osmi case this week, and I needed help with cooler options. I am looking for a passive CPU cooler for the i7 6700 (65TDP) I will be installing. Keep in mind, with the combination of the GPU being used, I will be using a Pico PSU so I have extra space to work with.
If I...
I thought of an additional setup like this...but as I said before, I am not too knowledgable of the thermal dynamics of this.
I used the Silverstone HE01 as an example. The CPU cooler has a max TDP of 300w...Which might allow me to swap the video card with another GPU with a higher TDP and...
Necere, is there a calculator of some sorts to estimate the aluminum block size needed based on an devices TDP? Or is your formula of Thermal Resistance divided by temperature what i should use?
There would be copper heat pipes though...similar to what the guy did here. I would have something setup like that with one 140mm fan at top...and perhaps one on the bottom as exhaust. Would this still not work?
I had a question regarding a new case mod idea. I wanted to attempth something similar to this. For those who can't follow the link...its basically a semi passive cooled system. Two large heatsinks reside in the center of the case with the gpu and cpu attached on each side.
I would be using a...
Dan, I don't know if it's been asked before...but how safe is an m2 ssd in this system? On my mitx board, it's on the back...which means it will be sandwiched in between the motherboard and the gpu backplate. I assume it would get quite toasty.
I am looking to get a custom length 24PIN Psu cable. My motherboard is similar to the one in the photos on the Dan Case site. What length would you guys reccomend? I have a Corsair SFX600 and the included 30cm cables are a nightmare to work with.
Evt: Thank you so much for that. I would like to order a card sometime in the future, but it seems all these places have a minimum order of 10 cards...do you know where I can get just one?
Thank you for this, I was just going to ask about continous use with them. Would you happen to have a rough estimate on the dimensions of the card?
Also...when you mentioned vBios, is that why companies like this ask about output configurations?
Silent-circuit: I ended purchasing another GPU that has one of those semi passive...0db mode. The reason I was looking into the MXM route, because I want to fit it to fit in a case thats aesthetically pleasing to me. This is purely a personal reason, and I know there are other solutions out...
Well, I have emailed/skype the owner of the mentioned URL with no luck. I haven't really thought of a cooler yet. I would think some heatsync pads...and some third party gpu cooler. GTX 970 I had before..the mini gigabyte one..HATED it..Super loud. The ideal ..IDEAL setup would be a streacom FC8...
I cam across this today.
Has anybody any experience with using one of them? I had an idea of getting one and throwing a 970m .
This is to have a "powerful" GPU with a low TDP that that is smaller than a full sized one.
Thoughts?
I don't know if this has been mentioned before..But to make it more space efficient, why not do something like dondan did? Have one GPU lay horizontal via a PCI extender over the PCI slots. Use a second PCI Extender in the lowest slot and wrap that to the other side of the motherboard if you...
I agree, dimensions from vendors are a bit off. On MSI's USA site, they advertise the card as having a length of 277mm, yet on their UK site the length is listed as 269mm. Who knows if they included the heatpipes in those numbers. I guess the only way to know for sure is grab a pair of calipers. :/
Perfect, I wanted to compare it to the dimensions of my current GPU: MSI 980TI Gaming. It seems that it is 1mm taller in height so I am assuming it will fit. I do not know if they included the heatpipes in those dimensions though.
