As I said, I can't watch Youtube videos, so obviously that isn't an option. I might try that buffering option, but knowing Youtube, 4k videos will look bad anyway. 1080P videos already do.
After installing that, my videos won't go above 720P for some reason.
I have trouble finding any 4k movie trailers, and as Youtube no longer buffers the whole video when you leave it, it is impossible for me to watch anything 4k on Youtube.
Well, game mode is a necessity on this. Was just playing some Dota, and was playing terribly. Took me 16 minutes to realise Game Mode was off, turned it on and I instantly started playing much better. Still cost us the game though :/
That's unlucky. I'm watching the Free To Play documentary and for some reason it has huge black borders, but it gives me a chance to look for backlight bleeding. Absolutely none, it's pretty perfect.
I'm loving mine so far. I have no problem reading text, 1080P works perfectly, it looks great, games run well. The only problem is that I can't set my resolution higher than 1440P with crossfire enabled.

Does "On FedEx vehicle for delivery" mean it is going to be delivered to my house?
EDIT: Got it! It's so big though! Going to be hard to get used to this after using 23" for years.
I'm running 7970 Crossfire, and I'll be using it for 95% Dota 2. The main reason why I went from 120hz to 4k is because 4k will benefit Dota 2 more than 120hz will.
POSTED: [Zero defects] Samsung U28D590 UHD Monitor 3840 x 2160 P...
Sent an email a few hours ago asking about this, and now it's posted! Hopefully it arrives soon, Korea to Australia should be fairly quick. It even has a tracking number which is awesome.
Has your monitor been shipped yet Wag? Apparently mine hasn't (or maybe they just didn't tick shipped?). Aus Post says it should only take 3 days when shipped from Australia>Korea, so I should get it quickly once shipped thankfully.
Yeah, that'll be the one bad thing about the monitor. I hope they just copy Apple with how they support hi-dpi displays. On OS X, you can make a 4k display look exactly like a 1080P display, just with the increased clarity. My 2880x1800 Macbook looks like a 1440x900 Macbook (I can make it look...
That one is $20 more, but their feedback is higher than anyone else. May as well buy from them, at least I won't be the only one!
EDIT: Bought! Here's hoping everything turns out okay. Ended up costing around $30 more because of Paypal, but it's still under $900 which is alright.
So does the seller matter? A whole load of sellers, all from Korea.
Also, does this come with the cable I need for 60hz at 4k? I currently use a DisplayPort cable for 1080P 120hz, are the cables the same?
So any reason not to grab one of these off eBay from Korea? Looking to upgrade my 120hz screen with a 4k screen, mainly for gaming. It's either this or the 24" Dell, but the 24" Dell is currently close to $700 more in Australia.
I've never heard of this before, sounds like a good buy. But why is there so little information about it? I want a 4k monitor, and this could be a contender, but even Samsung's website doesn't seem to mention it.
So there's no easy way to go from 4k 60hz to 1080P 60hz? Damn. That's almost enough to stop me from buying it. Is there any way to run 1080P games fullscreen easily?
Thinking about picking up one of these monitors this week, pretty much purely for gaming. I am using AMD cards, can I play 1080P games at full screen on it? Obviously I will try to play everything at 4k, but not all games will support that I'm sure, especially indie games. So will 1080P be full...
