NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Internal slimline drives aren't too bad. A slot load Blu-ray is about £50 and standard DVD is £23. So about the same as a standard internal. External DVD are around £22 and external Blu-ray from what I can find easily are around the £60 mark. So really there is zero price difference between...

    fx-9590 benchmarks surface

That is all well and good to suggest that Bulldozer architecture will gain due to multi core coding but looking at real world applications already (albeit CAD & Video editing) and you can see what Intel is capable of when multi cores are utilised. AMD still have a way to go. We are also...

    fx-9590 benchmarks surface

That's fine and I get that but people stated that it isn't listed or supported when they clearly state that it is. Then people stated about the quality of the review but the 3960x at least in the UK is same price so they compared the equivalent priced chips. I only linked the bit-tec one for...

    fx-9590 benchmarks surface

Not sure what review you guys have been reading but it states and this Also there was nothing really questionable. Everything was explained easy enough and shows this CPU really isn't offering anything you can't get from a i7 3770k overclocked to 4.4GHz at a 1/3rd of the cost. If you google...

Silverstone Modular 450W SFX (ST45SF-G) - Now has a product page - NextQ = When?

Cheers for reply. Was just trying to understand perspective of what you was saying. All of what you said makes sense but just want to highlight the above. It may be close to SFX standard but we need to be aware of how cases are designed to meet these standards and when SFF and mm matter this...

Silverstone Modular 450W SFX (ST45SF-G) - Now has a product page - NextQ = When?

He is clearly talking about a standard sized SFX psu as dictated by the current standards not a different form factor such as E-SFX. If you want an E-SFX at the moment go with High Power. Personally I would like to see a modular E-SFX that is 125x125x63.5mm with a 92mm fan but that isn't...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I am against anything else on front. It looks spot on with just ncase. I have 5 others who I know feel the same as we all want one. One thing is that I am maybe needing to order 5/6. Is this possible? No profit involved, just mates who always wants to have one.

    I was going to remove M1 and keep NCASE anyways so my vote is for;

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I am more interested on how you would put a value on something that is a limited addition. Not like if it gets damaged on the way to the UK you can just order another one? Also I am in UK so interested in knowing but you would only get your money back rather than another case I assume?

    Haswell Z87 SFF motherboard list

It's more that the board itself didn't have issues to hit the clocking potential. It appears to be just as capable as its larger brothers to get the most out of your components. You have to bare in mind the the maximus VI extreme also only reached around 4GHz in the same cooling conditions and...

The Dream Build is finally happening!

The only reason to go modular on ITX is because you can make custom lengths and keep cabling looking really clean. The SFX over the mobo lends itself to this cause you could have a 4-5" long 24pin for instance and a nice single curve line. But those are the details than can make builds stand out.

The Dream Build is finally happening!

The ODD comment is a mute point if you combine it with what else I said since I suggested an external ODD drive. Removing all the bays on the right of the case would mean loads of space to place the HDD's as wanted. The SSD can just be attached via velcro under the Mobo completely out of the...

The Dream Build is finally happening!

I would suggest an external ODD. Just plug in when needed. No need for internal ODD's really these days. Edit: As for GPU, I would suggest an Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU Mini to keep space for cabling easier etc. If you are gaming mainly I would also suggest going for the i5-4670k...

It has always been stated $160-$200 + shipping from my understanding.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks for all the replies, all makes sense. And yeah I will be modding it anyway's. Was trying to understand some further details. Apologise about the SSD, the way it was written made it sound like it would catch the front of the case still. All is good there then. Is there any way to get...

It looks and sounds awesome to be fair. There is allot of great innovation in this. Not looking forward to the price mind.

    Next Generation Mac Pro

Yeah I was thinking about a 3 sided 'n' shape Mobo. CPU and GPU on opposite sides with 8 RAM slots on the connecting side with wifi, sound and custom IO plate at the bottom. You could then have full length custom copper blocks. A radiator that sits against the open side of the 'n' shape the...

Check out http://www.bcmcom.com/custom_motherboard_design.htm or http://www.perfectron.com/custom_design.html for custom motherboard. Not sure on details but theoretically they would possibly be able to do something. Edit: Looking at some old info back in 2002 it was $100,000 for R&D, Tooling...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Also the other reason I am advocating small changes so late is that we have seen LL take the concept that is here in their own way, so W360 & Necere are going to need to push harder to distinguish their case and keep those innovations/details ahead. Although interest etc would seem to show...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I believe you can fit 2 in the front based on what he stated but only if you 3M/Velcro them. The picture showing the two mounted with the brackets at the front he stated don't work although I can't remember if I read that correct and which page it was on now. My current plan is the Asrock...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

What I would like to see if they are not going to follow on in the future is having the design freely available for people in the future. Maybe not with all the details but just the shell. It would be reasonably costly but any metal sheet fabricating company could realistically build the case...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Cheers for the input but from the last comments it appeared that Necere was finalising with LL and all of what I mentioned are only really minimal points to what is happening and certainly won't cost more. If anything would make production cheaper on a few of the points I have made. It...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

A few other items I was wanting to talk about but forgot since reading through so much are; 1. That rear screw in the roof. I really don't believe it is needed and think it detracts more aesthetically than the slot load ever has on the case. It is not used in the case labs cases for instance...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Having had a quick search into ITX builds with Haswell out and came across this only yesterday since I haven't built a PC for myself in pretty much 5 years. Have now read all 167 pages with delight and had to sign up to post. I am really excited to see this come about the build and am looking...
