I ran into a similar issue, Do you have a system speaker that you can plug in? I had one that came with my NCase M1 and i had got 3 long beeps indicating memory problem. I thought My Corsair sticks where bad but it turned out that i didnt pess the non clipped side in all the way. I felt like i...
I bought one of these for my build last week and am loving it, though the cables are stiff and not super flexible I'm using a H75 in my Ncase M1 and it provides ample room to hide the cables in the wide open lol.
I am personally waiting for/interested in the little cousin of this board, the Asus Z170i Pro Gamer, I saw this one and it didn't catch my eye like the VII initially did.
Looking forward to some reviews :) I have more respect for MSI after I got my mom a GS60 for work(I spoiled her years ago by giving her my old gaming laptop as a desktop replacement). I am leaning towards this Motherboard for my build later this year paired with my M1 v3, the only possible...
I have a TX-NR626 that i have owned for over a year with no problems and would gladly buy the TX-NR636 if i had to upgrade. I would say either the Denon or the Onkyo.
I did some quick research, if you consider the following two forum posted pictures,

the power supply is a bit recessed(2nd picture shows it sits behind the front...
With the way that technology is going This seems like the better/fuller psu if it does allow for an over-sized card to fit perfectly fine. I get the feeling that if this fits with a gtx 980 with little to no problems the this will be the new go to psu, with the 600w being the go to for higher...
I added the link to the initial post yesterday :D Good to know I wasnt the only one who noticed the page/found the page. They where down for Scheduled maintenance/Site updates when i intially found the page.
Initial post has been updated with the official information from ASUS's website aswell as a Link to the Product Page. Also RAM City ships all over the world and has the Samsung XP941.The AUD to USD conversion is not bad at all, last I checked it was roughly $530 USD shipped for a 512GB version.
Minor Update/Audio Chipset finding!
According To Hardware Canucks The audio chipset for the Maximus VII Gene is Realtek ALC1150 based. If we do have the exact same audio as the Maximus VII Gene then this part of the review is pretty relevant to us and gives us some insight of whats to come!! :D...
Closely based yes, but this is the second version, SupremeFX Impact II which hopefully resolved issues with the first version? I recall a lot of people saying they where getting pops and crackles in the first batch.
If a z87 owner could chime in or if a Maximus VII Gene owner could chime in that...
I hope so too! and I just confirmed via Asus's new ROG Page dedicated to the VII Impact that it does indeed have an Intel Ethernet, I have also updated the initial post with the new updates.
Checked with ASUS about the audio, all that they would confirm was that the Gene version uses a realtek driver and thus its realtek based  but they cannot speak of products that have not been released yet.
Official Page is now on the ASUS Website!: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_IMPACT/

Read a review on the egg, person has this board and a Samsung m.2 and seems like either his m.2 is dead or incompatible, or the motherboard m.2 slot is defective/needs a bios update @_@
It is up to the Motherboard Manufacturer as to the exact location of the ports on the motherboards, I know I mistated my thought this morning. Placement is key to size just like the socket placement is key to which cpu coolers can be used or what orientation the cpu cooler has to be turned to.
Just looked at the PDF that you Provided @_@ I see what you mean, It all depends on what M2. Socket connector that the manufacturer uses. and the PCB itself may be 1mm and then with both sides I believe it is then 4mm for the samsung, but I believe Motherboard maufacturers (ASRock and ASUS...
I speak for myself when I say that I dont mind not having the Sata Express, even ASRock's MITX's board's Sata Express is tied to m.2 meaning either or, not both. I do agree about the VGA. As for the Location of the m.2 Asrock did the samething, in their main overiew page they show it being on...
Strange I sent you a message last night but my pm's shows no log of it.
As Per page 33 of ASRock's Manual.
The M.2_SSD (NGFF) Socket 3 can accommodate either a M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module or a M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen 2 x2 (10 Gb/s). Please be noted that the M.2_SSD (NGFF) Socket 3 is...
for what it is the Plus isnt bad, 4 Sata Ports + a M.2 vs 6 sata ports with the last 2 being tied to M.2, Sata Express or 2 sata ports. Definately do like this particular ASrock Board but they could have used an extra lane or two thats offered from the chipset to make the M.2 non shared with the...
Actually the SFX PSU's from silverstone come with a mounting brakcet for atx mounting. That would be a viable option to cut down on having to reinvest in a new PSU, and then only leaves for the case to be sold. once you have/acquire your NCASE.
I snagged one of these http://us.aopen.com/products_detail.aspx?auno=3014 a couple years ago and built a HTPC using my spare laptop parts from when I upgraded my gateway fx laptop a couple years prior. All-in-all its a nice capable htpc or an office pc. I just need to buy a small ssd and maybe...
I will most likely be buying this motherboard aswell :D especialy knowing that it has SATA Express & M.2. I just hope that the M.2 is not wired to the SATA Express. I know on the Z87E-ITX you loose out on Sata port 1 if you use MSATA So I hope its tied to Sata 1 & 2 and not 5&6 :)
My From what Ive read and seen, the Z97E-ITX will have Intel's NIC. Unless they do alast minute change, Which I highly doubt, they only use the Killer NIC's on their OC & Fatal1ty Motherboards.
1 of many sources :)
