Hi,
I just got a new video card (1660 ti), and decided to play with overclocking a bit.
Most of the overclocking guides say to overclock the GPU in small 5-10 MHz increments.
But after playing with it a bit, I noticed that the clock always changes in 15 MHz increments.
After a bit of testing it...
Seems Dell is still making these in late 2018.
Staples had them on sale for $119.99 with a black friday sale. They also give me a coupon for $10 off of a $50 purchase. So i ordered one on 11-19-2018 to replace my 2209wa on my main computer. Told my brother and he got one a day or two later...
Personally I am using this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QUAD-GAMING-the-mouse-rock-mouse-bungee-microsoft-logitech-razer/322314458950
I like it. Seem to work nice.
I know that the U2415 is the later release. But dell.com no longer sells the U2415 but they DO sell the U2412M.
But I can get both from other sellers...
I'm not really sure of the differences...
I do know that the U2415 has a thinner bezel, but I'm really more interested in the screen...
Stick with the motherboard's onboard sound. For $50 you are not likely to get anything that is any better.
If you do want something better, I would recomment getting the Schiit Modi 2 which is priced at $99.
Personally I recommend seperate AMP and DAC.
For an AMP go with Parasound Zamp V.3 (a good class AB amp).
If you really want a small class D amp, go for a good one like the Matrix Mini-i AMP.
(The Mini-i AMP is smaller than the Zamp, and more power, but it also costs more!)
This give a good...
For amps:
Parasound Zamp v.3 (class A/B and about half the size of the small Emotiva)
Matrix Audio Mini-i Amp (class D and about half the size of Nuforce STA-120 or Zamp)
For DAC:
There are so many to choose from..., but I would prefer the Emotiva DC-1 or the Matrix Audio Mini-i over the...
Sunon has the best quiet 40mm fans. Their lastest fan (HA40201V4) is easily the best quiet 40x20mm fan out there.
Just search for HA40201V4
I think it is around $12-13 with 3 pin power connector.
Even cheaper but usually just with bare wires (if you want to add your own connector).
My first choice for 120mm would be Sanyo Denki quiet series. I prefer the low speed one (1500 RPM) for best balance between performance and noise, but the higher speed medium (1850 RPM) is decent also.
My second choice would be the Scythe Gentle Typhoon. 13 (1150 RPM) and 14 (1450 RPM) both...
Thanks, I had hopes that someone would point other options than the KEF LS50. While personally I am quite happy with my Snell CR7, as they are discontinued they cannot be recommended...
I mostly mention the KEF LS50 because they are the best speaker that I own that is still currently...
The Scythe Kotetsu is a great choice for good quiet cooling.
A good low cost option would maybe be DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400:
http://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-GAMMAXX-Cooler-Heatsink-120mm/dp/B00JQ2YDCY/
But while it is cheaper, it is NOT as good as the Scythe Kotetsu.
The performance of high end video cards has improved several times over the last few years. By comparison the performance increase of midrange video cards has has bean quite small, and the performance increase of low end smaller still.
The main reason for this is the fact that AMD has NOT...
You are using a negative offset voltage which I would not use. A negative offset voltage will lower voltages at ALL power levels and could cause problems. Instead try a minimal positive offset voltage and then use a higher CPU Load-Line Calibration level. This will use close to default...
I won't get into the 'best speaker ever' nonsense..., as everyone has different tastes and 'best ever' is way out of my price range....
The best speaker I have heard that fits on my desktop is my Snell CR7 (sadly they are discontinued as Snell closed when Joseph D'Appolito retired). The Snell...
I have a couple of Steelseries SX mouse pads that are my favorite. But I about wore the first one out before I found out I could buy silicone lubricant to help it last longer.
I also have several Ice mats (the original smaller version) that I keep around for when I wear out both the...
The best quiet 120mm fan I know of is from the Sanyo Denki Quiet series.
The low speed version (9S1212L4011 or 9S1212L401) operates at 1500 RPM, but is as quiet as most 1200 RPM fans. At full speed (12 volts and 1500RPM) it is a nice balance of decent performance and low noise. But if it is...
Budget? I would LIKE to keep it under $500, but if I need to pay more to get something better then...?
As for size, it does not need to be tiny, but it will likely need fit on my desktop, so shouldn't be too big.
The only other amp I know of right now would be the Parasound Zamp v.3
It...
Hi,
I am looking for suggestions for a good but inexpensive amp to drive a pair of KEF LS50 speakers for desktop use. I currently have the Emotiva Fusion Flex. And while it seems decent, I am concerned that it has high THD+N at lower frequencys (around 1% at 200Hz rising to around 4% at 50Hz...
Currently I have the HIS HD 4670 in my AGP machine. But I will likely be going back to the GT7950. I like the GT7950 better than any of the ATI stuff. it just seems to run smoother (even if it is slower).
I would recommend the Scythe Kotetsu. It is a slimmer cooler that cools well and is fairly quiet. And should allow overclock well beyond 4Ghz.
https://pcpartpicker.com/part/scythe-cpu-cooler-scktt1000
It is actually listed 4th on silentpcreview for quiet coolers, and is much slimmer than...
Personally I thought the Audioengine A2 were a decent upgrade over the Promedia 2.1.
To me the A2 had a cleaner and more clear sound.
From the frequency plot I took, the A2 did have a rise in output between 100-200 Hz, but it was still better than the frequency plot of the promedia. (Also...
What about the Emotiva Airmotiv 4s.
https://emotiva.com/products/powered-monitors/speakers/airmotiv-4s
These are self powered and should be as good as anything else mentioned in this thread.
The SMC D3CM1604 from ptsupply is currently the clear value leader for a basic 16x4 cable modem.
The SMC D3CM1604, the Netgear CM500, and the Arris/Motorola SB6183 are basically the same thing. And with the SMC D3CM1604 being much cheaper from ptsupply, it is easy a best buy. You can get...
For a lower cost speaker I would recommend something from the Emotiva Pro line:
https://emotiva.com/products/emotiva-pro/powered-monitors-0
Don't know anything about the new 3B model, but the others are quite good with prices starting at $299.
KEF LS50
Not cheap at $1500 a pair, but about as good as you will find (even at several times the price).
They are rear ported and passive, but leaving enough clearance for the connectors should be plenty for the port also.
My favorite 120mm fan is the Sanyo Denki 9S1212L4011 (or 9S1212L401).
It is not a cheap fan, $17.20 for 9S1212L4011 from Mouser when they have em in stock (often seem on order). And the 4011 version is cheaper than the 401 version. Also they come with bare wires.
But don't think there is a...
Try bluejeanscable.com, they have very good cables.
For VGA to VGA up to 15 feet you will want the 'Belden 1522A HD15 to HD15 Cable' from here:
http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/rgbhv/index.htm
USB means using the a2+ internal DAC, which shouldn't be too bad, but not likely all that great either. If you have a good soundcard or other DAC it could be better, but will mean using RCA or mini jack.
Electrically, RCA and mini jack are the same. Good RCA cables are usually better than...
Personally I think the Audioengine A2+ is and upgrade over the Promedia 2.1
In doing a frequency response test, the Promedia tweeter couldn't handle 90 dB output sweep and kept cutting out, the A2 did it just fine.
With the small subwoofer, the Promedia will give more base VOLUME, but that...
I think the best fan for quiet still decent air flow is the Sanyo Denki Silent Series
9S1212L4011 or 91212L401
The higher speed ones are good also (just replace the L with M, F, or H).
But when you slow a higher speed fan down to the same speeds, it will usually be slightly louder. And...

No, MX Blacks generally have a lessor chance of bottoming out, or bottom out with less force than both MX Reds and MX Browns.
I am a real key masher, and my FILCO with MX Blue switches made much more noise from bottoming out than it did from the switch click. Although I fixed that by adding...
