The Samsung 30nm low profile seems to be the go to choice, I picked it up for my Ivy build, I have not had anytime to assemble or tweak it yet.
Less than $100 (89$) for 16 gigs.
There are allot of reviews out there on it.
Sorry Love this :D ^^^^^^ :D I am curious as to what ivy temps would drop to with the IHS off and good heatsink contact direct to die. Could drop the temps 10 - 19. Decisions, Decisions....Might Have to give it a try Tuesday.
Why clock them both at 4gig and set the memory at the same speed on both and then run tests?
Is it just me or is that just a bland way to test, I would think it would be max stable on both and max memory speeds and then compare.Let them slug it out maxed out.
Thank you for the review.
@ DejaWiz thank you for the reseller ratings, I had found the BBB first and was slightly concerned.
They sure have now, but I ordered one before they did that :D
Hey,
Anyone have any experience with this memory, considering using it for an I7 - 3770k build.
SAMSUNG 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model MV-3V4G3D/US
I only found one review that says it overclocks really well
Thanks in advance,

I have the p182 now too, and I normally leave the door closed. If I find I need more air flow I may mod the top of the case to accommodate more fans. What I really liked about this case is it has clean sharp lines.
I was thinking the same thing, Since I can wait becuase my current system still works 2 months should not kill me. I ordered the pieces I am not going to change and will probably mod them a bit to kill time for the two months. Worse that happens is I get what I wanted in 2 months for a cheaper...
So a different raid card would be needed if I decide to put a raid array in this machine.
So an update
Today I ordered everything I wanted except
Motherboard
CPU
Memory
Video Card
I figure since we are so close to new hardware I should wait and see what we get before I purchase. I...
April 8th which was the original launch date for both CPUs and motherboards, will instead consist of just motherboard vendors releasing models based on the Z77, Z75, H77, and B75 chipsets. These motherboards will work with existing Sandy Bridge CPUs but Ivy Bridge itself wont be ready. April...
Looks like the ivy bridge may be A week from This Friday?
Looks like the Core i5-3570K is the new SB 2500k. And if leaks are true it should be about the same price point.
So that means Core i7-3770K is the new SB 2700k
hmm...
I have skyrim but I have not been playing it lately.
The only feature I really need is remote desktop connection, It is in ultimate and professional. The price difference between the two is only 20$. I suppose I could look into VNC or something simliar for all my systems that do not have...
Been debating this, thanks for the vote in that direction
Monitor Max Res is 1920x1080. I do have a 60" 1080p plasma, and a 32" 720p lcd, but my computer is not normally hooked up to those.
My Game choice fluctuates I tend to pick up games as they come out new. Currently messing around with...
Opinions are welcomed! I don't think I forgot anything.
Old system

4 GB DDR2 800
ATI 5770
Zalman 9700 cooler
It will still serve as network storage for now till I move to a ZFS for storage or something else it hosts a 2.72 TB raid array.

Should be plenty of power, with that corsair. Are you going to use a stock cooler? or aftermarket? I only ask because that ram is rather tall for allot of the aftermarket coolers.
That mother board should be just fine too.
