$650 is very reasonable for me :D
I am wondering how could someone post an unboxing video 5 days later than announced at CeBit - and they told, that they are not ready with the BIOS of the card.
Thank you for your answer!
Another quick question for NexentaStor users:
If I install a PCIe USB 3.0 addon card to connect two X-25E 32GB drives via SATA-USB 3.0 connector. Can I install the OS on these SSD drives as mirrored device?
This is needed because I would like to install 6 HDD in the...
Why is MSI waiting? TFIII is currently only available on 7950 card. Same for PowerColor: PCS+ cooler is made for 7950 which is whisper quiet. I am really consider to buy two 7950 with PCS+ cooler.
Could you tell me the name (or link) of the double 3.5" HDD bracket which fits in 5.25" ODD place?
It has a rubber anti-vibration element and has two metal parts on both sides which holds the HDDs.
Thanks in advance!
From some reviews/news I heard that DirectCUII cards have 375W TDP.
I don't know if it means more OC capability or the 10 phase VRM requires more power.
But DCUII pushes the hot air outside the case, not to your mobo or other GPU.
Regrarding the Voltage and OC, I could tell you that 7970 cards have built in regulators. If they break the 300W TDP limit, the clock speeds will be taken back. They behave differently than previous generations...
There is no connection between ASIC quality and OC capability. You have to remember this.
ASIC quality is only affects Extreme-OC (LN2 or dice).
AMD's Dave Baumann said:
Actually, it does the opposite! We scale the voltage based on leakage, so the higher leakage parts use lower voltage and the...
Sorry but I think that no parts are come out of the PCB on the back side. It is soldered from the front side.
The card which is displayed on the linked image is 7950 DCUII (but this is not an issue).
Dear P4rD0nM3 (or any other ASUS IV Extreme owner),
Have you tried the VGA HotWire with 7970 DCUII card?
Are there any advantages using this method for OC instead of GPU Tweaker/MSI Afterburner?
In my opinion the heat is only radiating from the VGA card's other side where VRMs are located.
Cooling the backplate and/or PCB will not affect VRM temps.
