Yes i disabled eco-view.
Your monitor S2433WFS has ccfl-backlight not LED so flickering is not noticable even for me.
Only LED displays have this aggressive PWM flickering because LEDs react faster than CCFLs.
-> flicker test: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1646980
Info...
most modern LED displays suffer from that, but a lot of people don´t realize PWM flickering...
for me it´s very annoying because my eyes get tired very fast... you have to try it yourself to find out if it´s a problem for you too.
yes...but i have sent it back.
It has very very good picture, very sharp, very good colors, very light AG-coating, very good illumination ...but the LED backlight is flickering (PWM).
Not everybody can see it but if you are sensible to it it will strain your eyes...
For me it´s the best...
Currently only one (the first) PWM-Test ist online (as preview) for that display:
http://www.prad.de/new/monitore/test/2011/test-hp-compaq-le2202x.html
but here is some info about PWM flickering:
http://www.prad.de/new/monitore/specials/backlight.html...
Many people don´t notice it - but there are also many getting eyestrain or headache.
Maybe tftcentral-testers are not sensible to PWM-flickering
www.prad.de includes a PWM-flickering test in all new reviews.. it is a big issue for many people - believe me.
this guy also tests it...
really strange... i never saw this effect on CCFL monitors. Normally CCFL reacts too slow that PWM can cause visible flickering.
Maybe the Samsung doesn´t use PWM for dimming - some (very few) LED monitors use backlight dimming by reducing the power.
The ZR2740w doesn´t flicker too (regarding...
Unfortunately it does! Someone on www.amazon.de made the finger-test with the U2412M and confirmed a stroboscope effect at lower brightness settings.
A guy on prad.de posted something about eye-strain with the ZR2440w - he thinks it´s caused by IPS-technology but i think it´s caused by...
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14145_na/14145_na.pdf
HP says the ZR2440w supports up to 16,7 million colors (** With the use of FRC technology)
-> so its 6-bit+FRC like most actual e-IPS panels...
You will not see any difference between true 8-bit and 6-bit+FRC...
Hi,
i´d like to know what´s your seat pitch to your 27" display (resolution: 2560 x 1440)?
A German certificate for e.g. HP ZR2740w says it should be 1,097m.
http://666kb.com/i/byfimqmdwjclp4vpd.gif
i hope there will be reviews soon... http://www.prad.de is testing this display currently.
They say that the ZR2740w is one of the rare models with completely flickerfree LED backlight - i hope ZR2440w is flickerfree too !
For those of you speaking german (or are able to use...
Hi,
please tell your experiences about PWM-flickering in this thread.
Here is some info:
PWM (pulse width modulation) is used for dimming the backlight. Because LEDs react very quickly this technique can cause flickering (if the PWM module is cheap/poor).
Some people can see it - some not...

TEST:
1) Open a program with white background (e.g. Microsoft Word)
2) Turn down...

amazing!
Adjustable to Just 1% of Maximum Brightness.
In a dimly-lit work environment, a monitor with low brightness settings will be more comfortable to use.
Both models come with LED backlights that allow for adjusting...
ok thx.. so it wasn´t a problem with my graphics-card.
but strange thing is that samsung claims S24A650 covers 92% sRGB... i think that´s wrong.
which graphics card do you have?
here is a japanese review:
(translated with microsofttranslator)
http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.the-hikaku.com%2Fdisplay%2FEIZO%2FEV2335W.html
response time is not perfect (16ms black-to-white-to-black):
translated text:
yes...it is.
it looks less glossy on this pic:

maybe it only looks so glossy if you watch from a wide angle...

Surface is a nonglare but will...
yes i use DVI.
i tried another cable too - but bizarelly only with S24A650 and S24A450 i had the violet tone.
i recently also tried the iiyama B2475hds (also DVI) and the blue was ok with it.
very strange..
which graphics card do you have?
i returned my S24A650D and S24A450BW because facebook blue had a light violet tone.
i searched "blue" with google and got only violet pictures ;-)
i think it has to do with my intel hd3000 card in combination with samsung SA(4)(6)50 montors...
i tested u2311hm und u2412m -> i returned both due to hard AG-coating
my eyes don´t like that crystal sparkling on white backgrounds ... especially reading texts causes eye exhaustion..
i prefer lighter coatings...
does anybody use this monitor here?
i know reviews of X2472HD (with bad response time) - but i think XB2472HD has better overdrive.
in reviews of X2472HD there was only OD=on and OD=off.
the new version XB2472HD has OD=off,1,2,3 (iiyama mentions it in manual).
so i think they improved...
yes i use DVI.
i reinstalled the driver... and even installed a newer version.
light blue is ok...but some blue tones (like facebook) look violet... very strange.
i deleted all ICC profiles and tried calibrating it with integrated windows 7 display calibration.
nothing worked.. now i use my...
i bought it from a german online-shop.
i have no calibrating tool... but no other monitor i use has this problem (only S24A450BW and S24A650D).
it was not possible for me to get pure-blue colors (e.g. on www.facebook.com) with those displays.
may be it´s a problem with my intel HD3000 graphic...
yes there is a difference between normal, fast and faster
e.g. in this trailing test (black/white):
http://tft.vanity.dk/monitorTest_scale.html
if i move the black square on grey background:
with fastest i can see some white ghosting (shadow)...with normal there is more black ghosting...
i only have a very cheap smartphone - the pics look very bad - so it wouldn´t help you.
i tried to make a video but my camera is so bad that blurring looks worse on video as in real..
i can say it´s much better than this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT6C6bp1oEM&feature=related
this violet...
i bought this monitor now...
it definitely has overdrive...i can choose between normal, fast, faster.
response time is not as good as e.g. dell u2412m but it´s ok for me...i don´t realize it in practice (i´m not a gamer).
i would say it´s even better than my old samsung 940b (with tn-panel)...
here are some pix:
http://www.itsvet.com/popup.php?pg=si&img=/img/obj/articles/000/000/005/136/01.jpg
http://www.itsvet.com/popup.php?pg=si&img=/img/obj/articles/000/000/005/136/04.jpg
http://www.itsvet.com/popup.php?pg=si&img=/img/obj/articles/000/000/005/136/03.jpg...
yes i also noticed that...
but i do not think that a non-overdriven mva-panel can achieve 8ms response time.
maybe some models only can turn it on/off instead of normal/faster/fastest or SA650 has enabled overdrive as standard.
