1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

I've owned a few 1366 hex cores and have always been a bit let down in the overclocking aspect... until now. I snagged two W3670 CPUs for $58 shipped for the pair on eBay. From the pictures I could see one was manufactured in 2011, the other in 2012. I had read somewhere in this thread that the...

You're likely going to need to crank that QPI (VTT) voltage up a bit. I'm running 1.475V QPI on my X5650 because it's a garbage engineering sample (uncore locked at 20x, I'm running 3700mhz uncore) and I don't care if I degrade it. Maybe try 1.375V? If you aren't comfortable increasing the QPI...

    GTX Titan Z shadows flashing/flickering

I was considering that, but disabling one of the GPUs would give a big thermal advantage to the card, no? I guess I could try underclocking it.

    GTX Titan Z shadows flashing/flickering

Hello, I own a GTX Titan Z that is still on warranty. I am running the card at the factory 706mhz base clock with no temp, power, or clock offsets at all. In Black Ops 3 I've noticed some flickering of certain shadows during game play. It actually happens reasonably frequently. I've also...

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

Turns out that I was able to get an aggrressive memory overclock thanks to having to run high QPI voltage. I ended up with a 10x memory multiplier at 1.4625V QPI. 184*20 = 3680MHz on the core and uncore 920*2 = 1840MHz on the memory with 9-10-9-27 1T timings on 3x4GB Kingston HyperX Genesis...

1366 x58 Xeon Enthusiast overclocks club

Anyone here have experience running high QPI voltage (1.4V-1.5V) for 24/7 use? Yes, I understand that this in excess of Intel's absolute maximum. I think it might be justified given my situation. The problem is that I've got an ES X5650 with the B0 stepping. On both the ASUS P6X58E-WS and MSI...

Fury won't beat 980Ti, much less Titan

Thanks for the information. I kinda felt bad for asking when I could do research myself, but I have a feeling I'd be doing a ton of reading just to get to this.

Fury won't beat 980Ti, much less Titan

Is free-sync really that bad? I've been looking at the Acer XG270HU and it seems like incredible value. I'm going to have to upgrade my 280X, however. I have no interest in Crossfire if that matters.

Need help I'm about to destroy this mobo....

Maybe some dust got in your CPU socket? I had an X58 Sabertooth with a seemingly dead ram slot, then I used compressed air to blow out the socket and it worked perfect.

My bad, I'll edit my post and continue to price gouge on eBay. Thanks for the heads up.

List all the GPUs you've ever owned

Hi, I've been a member here for a while but haven't really posted much. I'm looking to become more active on here so here is my list (in chronological order). I've been flipping computers and parts for a long time so I've had quite a lot of cards. My first video card ever: ASUS FX5200 128mb AGP...

How to stress test FirePro video cards?

Hello, I recently acquired four desktop computers from a bankrupt engineering company. I am looking to sell the following cards: 3x AMD FirePro V5800 1x AMD FirePro V5900 My question is this: I need to verify that the video cards are 100% functional before I can sell them on eBay. I...

    Xeon w3520 ES (i7 920 equiv)

I recommend non-ES W3520 CPUs. I got mine for $70 shipped and it is D0.

    Xeon w3520 ES (i7 920 equiv)

Pretty sure these aren't unlocked. I owned an ES L5640 (B1 stepping) and it wasn't. Furthermore, they are C0 stepping, which is kind of bad. Worth about $50 lol

    used lapped i7 920 2.66 Ghz Or new i3 3210 3.20 Ghz

You should shop around a bit more. This is what I'm running: Xeon W3520 - $75 (eBay) MSI X58M - $70 (eBay) The Xeons sell for less because people don't know much about them generally. The reality is though that Xeons are actually better binned i7s, mine hits 4.4GHz easily on air with HT...

PCI-E to SATA 3 adapter with SSD (2.5) mount

A while ago in the for sale section I saw someone selling something close to this but it was way cheaper: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempossd.html My setup uses the MSI X58M motherboard (in a TJ08-E) so it does not support SATA 3.0. I just got an amazing deal on a 128GB Crucial M4 and...
