• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

    Fleet Management Programs

Since it is a municipality I would suggest looking at the vendor they use for the ERP (Utility Billing, AR, AP, HR/Payroll, Purchasing). For example where I work we use the Sungard Public Sector's suite of software which has a fleet management module available. This approach may not be the...

    Question About RJ12 Keystone Jacks

I would also recommend matching the color code from the telco. Standards usually will have Line 1 as blue/white, line 2 orange/white, etc. In case you're interested you can refer to this link http://psacake.com/web/fc.asp

    Web Platform Installer-SQL Server error

Are you able to specify a different username? Just create a domain account to run the service under. If possible I would recommend not running SQL on your domain controller.

List all shares on network to file

You could also enumerate shares and / or permissions via powershell. I don't have a sample script handy but if anyone's interested I can provide one.

Upload XML file to MS SQL 2005

You could import the XML into SQL Server using SSIS (Integration Services). Depending on the requirements you are looking for you can either store the XML in a single column as a BLOB or parse the XML out to populate into predefined schema.

I ordered Kaspersky's ESS suite for 80 nodes and got a quote for $14 / node.

    Enterprise Antivirus Suggestions

I'll throw in another vote for Kaspersky. We have been using the Kasperksy Enterprise Space Security suite for the last year and it's been reliable. Light on resources and the detection rates have been reliable. Also the administration kit is extremely easy to use.

NFS and Windows Server 2008 R2, able to mount and read shares, unable to write.

I don't have any experience with FreeNAS, however I'd look at the permissions of the new directory from the command line on the FreeNAS device. It is probably the UID or GID mappings not being correct. Here's a link to the MS KB about how to work with the permissions from Services for Unix...

    Business class document archiving suggestions

jtr8178 - the OnBase product that I mentioned does have a piece called "App Enabler" that will integrate with pretty much everything. The only downside is the cost which may be able to be supplemented by grants depending on what sector your business is in.

How to migrate Server/Exchange 2003 to Server 2008

I'm in the same boat at work. I have about 120 clients and I'm taking the approach of building of building a new AD domain and installing exchange as a new organization in the new domain. From there I plan on exporting the mailboxes and importing them to the new exchange server. At this point I...

Online Backups, r1 vs vembu vs ahsay vs others?

For enterprise backup solutions I would have to recommend Asigra. I've used them for about two years and had great experiences with the product. I am a customer so we go through a vendor (Terremark) for the service. Asigra will allow you to do full exchange mail store backups as well as message...

    Business class document archiving suggestions

Jess I agree with you completely. There are tons of poorly written and terrible software, most of which seems to plague the DMS space. You don't happen to work in the public sector do you? The agency I work for has several DMS style products for various departments.

    Business class document archiving suggestions

Yeah it's true that DMS solutions aren't "cheap" and they can be a PITA. However, if you spend the time up front to document the business process and work with the vendor of any product you can create a pretty seamless workflow. Definitely spend the time up front to document the business...

    Post Your Connection Speed

I'm currently pulling this down through a 20/2 pipe with a wrt54g running openwrt. I'm curious to see what improvement I will get next week when my Juniper SRX100 arrives.

    Business class document archiving suggestions

There are two DMS solutions that I'm looking at for work to replace our system. These systems both have web interfaces and built in workflow systems that can be configured for AP, AR, HR /Payroll, etc. My favorite of the two is OnBase by Hyland software it interfaces with any software packages...
