HWlab 420gts is a great performer and only 30mm. I learned the hard way, thinner is better. More mounting options down the road and the performance is there. Recently replaced a 80mm thicc 280mm push-pull alphacool rad with a 420gts push, gives about the same performance and doesn't take up a...

Sold! Thanks for the space H.
Selling/giving away a 2680v4 x99 CPU. Has run my home server for the last few years.
I don't think these older x99 Xeon CPUs are worth much these days, lets do $25 shipped if anyone wants it. Anything less is not worth my time.
Thanks!
It really depends on the games you play. For some the big cashe really does provide a boost. Others though not so much and at 4k it is a moot point 95% of the time.
I side-graded from a 5800x to 5800x3d. I knew it wouldn't be much of an upgrade but I did it for only two specific games...
5800X for sale. Has been water-cooled out of the box, run using PBO overcocking. Bought a 5800x3d at microcenter on a whim so this is no longer needed.
Will ship in original box, no cooler included as originally sold.
Please note I am traveling over the holidays and will not be able to ship...
Good news! I think though they'll have an even harder time at it, so much quality competition out there. Most people want a affordable mid-tower, and the high end has a lot more out there then what was available in Caselabs prime.
Technically the Q965 chipset can support some c2q cpus including the q6700. What you should be asking is if that shitty gateway pre-built PC supports c2q's. My guess would be no.
Don't you think it may be time to upgrade lol.
FS: EVGA 980TI SC+
Realized this card has been sitting in a box for months and somebody could probably use it. Bought new from EVGA the day the 980TI was released, card was put under water soon after and was used in my main gaming rig till I got a 3080 earlier this year. I reinstalled the stock...
An update to this thread, the card I installed in the OP is still working great. I helped a friend install the same EK block on a ftw3 3080ti, he had already disassembled the card but got confused with the thermal pads. Helped him put those on but didn't have any kratom tape so went without...
Aorus Elite here, I have been able overclock to 1866 FCLK with a 5800x and b-die single rank ram. I had better performance at 1800 and tighter timings though so that's what I run.
The Nickel plating is pretty thin, doubt there's any risk of damaging anything, cloging, ect. It didn't flake off, more like it wore off. Most of it was probably suspended in the coolant sense it runs 24/7, which was drained and replaced. Unfortunantly I bought the block 2nd hand though unused...
My ek 3080 block had had most of the nickel come off in less than 3 months. Used corsairs clear coolant for the first time. Funny enough, the aquacooler cpu block's nickel plating in the same loop looks good as new. Ended up taking the ek gpu block apart and used a little copper polish to get...
Nylon washers might have worked also, but I felt this was the simplest, safest solution. Washers on one side might cause improper contact over cooled components or cause stress to the pcb.
Primochill LRT in solid white. Probably the best soft tubing around.
How would you tell that the memory was overclocked? A physical inspection would not tell you. Sure a card with a mining bios would be a dead giveaway, but telling ebay that would probably get you nowhere. Now saying the card has a defect would almost guarantee a return, ebay sides with the buyer...
I have been water-cooling for over 10 years. In that time, the only coolant I've ever used is distilled water with the appropriate amount of PTN Nuke biocide. This is the Benzalkonium chloride version, not the copper sulfate stuff. It's supposed to be safe for nickel. I prefer using non-plated...
Core +165, Memory + 1350. Holds around 2175 for core clocks. Maybe up the memory? Also I'm running the XOC bios with the 450w power limit. I like many have a bug though where the 3rd 8pin power only draws half of what the other 2 8 pins draw, meaning I still hit the power limit around 390w...
Installed a EK Vector Waterblock on my 3080 FTW3 a few days ago. There's lots of discussion on the EVGA forum about people bricking their 3080/3090's while installing the EK Waterblock, so I decided to document my install and share the results.
The EVGA card is a pain to disassemble. The...
Need a replacement lga1150 motherboard for my blueiris server. Any chipset compatible with a 4770, any size. Cheaper the better, the old one was a h81 board, but I'll take what I can get quickly, need my security cameras up and running. Thanks!
I'd need some large capacity ssd's for my 60TB's of media. 4TB consumer drives wouldn't cut it. It takes less then 30 seconds for my server to spin up a drive and start playing something. Spinning rust will be here for years to come.
Zero reason to have your media on an ssd, but the OS and plex appdata folder on one is a good idea. I've been running plex on an unraid server for many years with no issues.
I also have the usb m&kb issue on the new beta bios on the x570 Elite. I had this issue on a previous bios, it effects only the usb2.0 ports. Either doesn't register keystrokes or has really bad latency. Using the usb3.0 ports fixes the problem, but I rolled back to the latest stable bios till...
Silver killcoils have gone out if fashion. I use distilled and ptn nuke and haven't had a problem once in over 10 years. Even left one loop going for 3 years without a drain and it was perfectly fine.
Rocket Lake will regain the IPC crown... at double the watts of ryzen 5000. I think we'll see a rebound from them similar to what AMD did in the next few years.
