I haven't heard of any spectacular 16:9 14 in. screens so I'm not sure it would be worth the hassle/price to replace it with another existing one. It is an interesting question though and I'd be interested in a solution as well. Congrats on the T420s by the way :).

Every time I have a run-in with these speakers I'm surprised they are still being manufactured. Good speakers though, at least the 'old' ones.

That doesn't sound good. I'm also contemplating between the two notebooks and while I don't care that much about screen quality, that just sounds terribly inconvenient. I may have to reconsider.

I would go with the Sager because of the 2nd gen Sandy Bridge CPU alone. There are some quad cores at the same price point check out xotic.

If you are willing to wait around for a deal you might be able to get the T420 for under $700 BEFORE tax.

Appearance..love Apple styling. That being said, I sold it (iPod) within a few months because I couldn't stand iTunes and felt I shouldn't have to Rockbox it.
