Since when is Engadget a source of valid information?

"We are sorry to correct the statement that we have two million HD-DVD players order from Wal-Mart and manufactured by China Great Wall Group. The actuality is that we had not received yet...
It sounds to me like the LG product engineers are throwing around the contrast ratio specs as if they are not important. Apple and HP only know what they are being told.
Hi guys,
My contact over at HP sent me the following when I asked him about an update on the response rate:
"Further clarification - we have not shipped any f2304s (or L2335s) with 25ms panels.
The production panels have always met the 16ms spec; the specs were a little slow in getting...
Ok guys, the review has officially been posted at Designtechnica:

I want to thank everyone for their feedback and experience on this monitor, it truely has helped me in the review process. I would like to urge those that have purchased...
When you run any LCD using the DVI input it will knock your refresh rate down to 60Hz. How are the games looking with the DVI input guys? I haven't tried it on mine yet.
Just make sure you do as much research on that Philips display as you have on the HP. I would hate something similar to happen to you as well.
The HP f2304 uses the same panel as the L2335 but has speakers and a little different design. I am not sure which Philips or LG model would be the...
This is what the HP PR rep told me when I showed him the spec sheet you guys posted:
"The spec sheet you have may be old. It is speced at a 16ms response rate. I have heard no contradicition from our labs or other reviewers."
I have faith in him since he has been 100% honest with me...
The HP L2335 is an LG.Philips monitor. I will have my review up at Designtechnica next week. Here is what the HP PR rep told us:
"The panel comes from LG.Philips (joint venture between LG electronics and Royal Dutch Philips). The monitor is built by Philips."
I have also heard rumors that...
Great answers. I guess no one really answered what I was looking for.
Would you pay more for a product to get better customer service and a better warranty?
Is this something that ATI can just flash or add to their X800 drivers to add the 9.0C support? If so then this is probably not a huge deal. The fact that the 6800 needs a 480 watt PSU is pretty heavy IMO though.
It can move in just about every direction possible. One thing I need to check is whether it will support an aftermarket LCD arm (that attaches to your desk). My guess is that is probably doesn't with the pivot and swivel features, but I am going to try anyways.
I called Netgear for techsupport and it went to their service center in India. The guy told me that even though the router has a 3 year warranty I only get phone support for 1 month. After that it costs $29.99 for each call into Netgear - but they have free support on their website.
What is...
If you do not see any color changes or a wavy image on your monitor you should be fine. If there is not sufficient shielding in your monitor OR the reveiver you will notice a rainbow color effect that shows up on your monitor.
I have been reading numerous reviews ont he Nvidia 6800 and the ATI X800 video cards and noticed that ATI is not supporting Microsofts newest DirectX 9.0C, but that Nvidia is with their card. To me this is kind of ironic since ATI pushed DirectX with their last series of cards. Why the lack of...
I just got this monitor for review over at Designtechnica (yes I own Designtechnica.com and I am an avid HardOCP'er and friends with Kyle) and so far nothing bad has stood out so far. I have only had it for a couple days and I am already in love. I have been able to play UT2004 at 1600x1200...
I am building a new computer and have the Abit IC7 MAX 3 motherboard and a 160GB Maxtor SATA drive. For some reason the drive will not show up when I reset the system. I have to power it down completely then restart it.
It sounds like the hard drive is hanging when resetting, it is not...
Haha thats too funny!
I ordered the MAX 3, Intel Prescot 2.8GHZ CPU and Corsair 1GB (2 512mb sticks) of DDR 400 memory. Throw in a Radeon 9800PRO and this should be a killer gaming rig!
Just need to find a cheap gigabit router....
I am interested in purchasing either one of the boards, but cannot find out what the difference is between the two.
There is a $30 dollar price difference however. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian
He did this about 4 times until his IP was banned altogether. Then he had his employees log into the forums and act like happy customers too.
Talk about shady...
We put Xoxide in the dog house over at Designtechnica for doing similar things. We will not recommend them to anyone. They DO have a bad BBB rating and have been known to have their customers give them good ratings at Resellerratings.com in exchange for free products. I would avoid these guys at...
