Driver bug on Windows Server 2016 with Samsung NVMe for SM951
If it was temperature related, I should get the exact same poor results with Windows 10 but I don't. I also put heatsink into the SSD controller and NAND so temps shouldn't be an issue. If your hypothesis about write cache reset a nature of Windows Server then why does it only happen on SM951...- raclimj

The write caching policy is was indeed disabled on device manager for SM951 NVMe under Windows Server 2016 (950 PRO under Windows Server 2016 has it enabled and SM951 NVMe under Windows 10 has it also enabled). i5 7500 is still better because it can do hardware acceleration for h.265 and vp9 both of which will be used heavily in 4k streaming. It will also support Optane SSD and speedshift v2. The onboard graphics is also about 10% faster than skylake.- raclimj
