AT&T's Cable Business Continues to Be Savaged by Cordcutting

I ditched AT&T U-Verse about a year ago and switched back to Comcast’s Xfinity because it’s a superior product not comparing pricing. Better technology, faster internet and much, much larger On Demand library. For example, my sister still has U-Verse and she can only stream a handful of Game of...

ASUS Z77 Motherboards - Official Support Thread

Nothing out of the ordinary. I've tried disabling/enabling in BIOS, cleared CMOS. I tried Network Stack, capture interrupt 19 and anything else I can think of even though I doubt it has anything to do with it. The only thing out of ordinary is the missing ME Firmware. Could that possibly have...

Thanks. I tried the ASUS driver and the latest from Intel. Something is not loading at start up but OK when I restart. I switched off Rapid Start. Is there anything else in BIOS to affect this behavior?

My P8Z77-V Deluxe does not load the Intel NIC at start up. Disabling/enabling the adapter in Win10 won't do it either. It says "The device cannot start. (Code 10)". It will load the NIC when I restart. It's only after a shutdown it will not load. This led me to believe it has something to do...

    Networking 2 homes

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I can see that now. What have I gotten myself into? There's a tree between us so I'm hoping the LocoM2 (2.4GHz) can punch through it. It's all single family homes around me so I don't think it's too congested. I'm hoping 2.4GHz won't be a problem.

Wow, awesome post! Thank you very much. You've certainly given me a lot to consider. I like the idea of using a professional router but I fear my networking skills may not be up to the task. Maybe pfSense would be better for me. I do have a lot of old PC parts laying around. Thanks again.

Thank you! That's very helpful. My RT-N66U seems to have Static Route capabilities. I guess I need to read up on that. I've been itching to get the newer AC version, this may be my excuse and then give my current N66 to my sister.

I have static IP's on PC's connected to routers with DHCP servers on the same subnet. Are you guys saying that's a bad idea? Everything seems to be working OK, but obviously I'm in way over my head here.

Please see my earlier post where it seemed her PC was trying to go through my gateway. If my DHCP server (192.168.2.1) assigns the IP address to her PC, it seems to also assign my router as her gateway. How do I get her PC to go through her own gateway at 192.168.2.254? Good to know, thanks!

Not true. I don't have a problem buying a couple antennas but I thought I'd give it a try with hardware I already had. I was at least able to confirm I could successfully create the network I wanted. I don't want her internet traffic routed through my gateway. She has her own internet access...

Thanks, that's encouraging. I'd rather not run anything outside. I found that if I left the PC to obtain an IP address automatically it didn't get assigned to the right gateway. We each have our own internet gateways and I'd like each home to use their respective router. Manually assigning an...

Thanks, I thought that too. I would still need to run network cables to the front of our homes though. I might try setting it up with another EA-N66 to see if I can get away without having to run cables. I always wanted another one for my son's bedroom if it doesn't work.

From my sister's PC, when I first hooked it up, it got assigned to my router. I can only assume my ASUS RT-N66U was quicker to respond than her AT&T router. So I manually entered the gateway address to make sure her PC only uses her gateway. Yeah, I'm going to try that next but I thought I'd...

An update to my OP. My sister and her family moved in Friday and I seem to have the network issues figured out. I tried using an ASUS EA-N66 in Bridge Mode but the signal is too weak. When I ping my Home Server I only get 25-50% success. As a last resort I'm looking at a couple Ubiquiti...

Official ASUS P8P67 Series Overclocking Guide and Information

Everything I've read suggests CPU degradation begins at 1.4V, so I've settled for 4.6Ghz which spikes to 1.376 on normal loads and 1.368 in Prime95. My chip needs over 1.4V to reach 4.7Ghz. :( I have VRM freq set to 350. I assume it makes the VRM's run a little warmer but everyone seems to think...

AFAIK VID is the voltage the CPU is asking for and I don't think it's adjustable. I too notice the higher voltages when starting programs but prime95 runs a little less. I think that's just a natural function of the load line calibration.

Yup, I just noticed it too. After playing around with some settings I loaded an OC profile which should be a .02 Offset, but the profile loaded .865. I didn't have the guts to boot it, but that can't be right. The way offset has been scaling for me that would give me like 2.0V Vcore!

Auto settings will probably only get you 42-43. If you want an easy 45 OC just set LLC to Medium. This will give you more voltage than you need though. You can do better by setting LLC to High and starting with an Offset Voltage of maybe 0.02. Phase Control set to Extreme will also help bring...

43-44 is all the Auto OC gave me too. If you want 4.8 you'll have to do it manually. I suggest you start with LLC High, Phase control Extreme, Current capability 130% and probably an offset voltage of 0.05. Be careful though, you'll probably be pushing close to 1.5V Vcore and a few sites are...

I agree. You should be able to reach 42-43 with just changing the multiplier. Caution though, the MoBo increases the voltage automatically. You may find your CPU is stable at a lower voltage than the MoBo throws at it, that's where setting LLC and offset comes in handy. I found the MoBo was...
