Hi guys,
I acquired the Chieftec "SFX-500GD-C" as a compassion to my very noisy (defective) Silverstone PSU.
I have to say, its much quieter.
In idle it has a much more satisfying "hum" (it does not go passive) , when the load hits though, it's a much more mellow sound.
When the...
Hello guys.
I got the SX500 PSU and i have noticed when applying load to the system (starting a game), then stopping the load (exiting a game) the fan will then start to slow, then starts the intermittent buzzing and fan slurring.
It is obnoxiously loud, and lasts for 3-5-10 minutes until the...
I will definitely be buying one of these, it's perfect.
I'll be putting in modest parts:
i5 2500
P8Z77-I
830 128, 830 256 (both ontop of the psu for extra room?)
660 Ti
I don't know yet:
CPU cooler
PSU
Fans
Will all the holes come with easy maintenance dust filters?
Ill be using one fan only...
indeed, also the 'asus p8z77-i deluxe'
also, noctua are later bringing out offset low profile coolers that will fit any mini-itx without blocking the pci-e
that would be excellent!!
or
SG05v2 = toolless design, remove the vents from the top and add a removable dust filter form the front, thats easy to remove.

one of the fans failed today, I think it is because of the dust embedding into the unit.
I removed the the entire fan unit and now running just off the sinkage (it's a word).
indeed.
passive (mine. 2500)

this design looks really good I want one!
only downsides I can see are, zero form's of any cable management possibility's, not even a 'L' shaped piece of metal to tuck them away, I'm guessing it's another "stuff behind the PSU scenario" :D
Hi, just a very quick update on my build;
I was having issues with a high pitch whine, I thought it was the SSD given its mounting position.. but after weeks of ´process of elimination´ I found that it was the Motherboard;
I decreased the CPU voltage by a single increment and reverted my RAM...
Well I´m hoping to transfer my mitx board to this case and maybe upgrade my ´axp 140´ cooler with a push ´and/or´ pull cooler (maybe Arctic Cooling) but i have no idea if it will fit with the position of the board and the RAM sinks.
Thank you, :D
Seriously, To all newbies out there!, do not! attempt your first mITX build with this case, It will make you put rusty nails in your anus.
I consider myself a veteran geek, but this build did try my patience numerous of times. But it's all worth it  (...I guess)
The MOBO/CPU is really good and I'm pleased with the build, a couple of points:
I initially had loads of problems with the booting. The MOBO just froze at POST then kept restarted, an endless cycle.
It turned out that the SATA mode was to blame:
I had to unplug the SSD to get into the BIOS...

Cheers! :D

I've got two Wing Boost fan's in my build and I love them, I might get another 140mm for the AXP and PWM them all up
