Thanks for the replies! I have looked into both the fiio e17 and O2+ODAC combo. Now based on my readings, my Ultrasone pro 900s will not benefit too much from a powerful amp due to its minimal input impedance. Is this true? Would that mean I wouldn't get much improvement with the O2+ODAC...

I'd keep the NECs since they are so much cheaper for you (student)... And with 3 of them, the desktop viewing areas shouldn't be that much of a concern. Then once you have money later, you can just buy nice 3x30" or whatever to your liking.

You could use it to store your paging file. Use it as temp. storage. Install VMs to it.

Yea, it's just like dropbox.. but what is neat about it is that you don't have to store files into the cloud if you don't want to (can just be a device to device sync - albeit both devices would have to be on at the same time if the data is not in the cloud)

I think it's because the fans on the HX were drawing out the hot air from the case.. whereas the AX's fans don't spin most of the time. It's like removing a fan.
