Heya
I have several VMware ESXi servers at work and I wanted to transfer all the local VM images to a new dedicated iSCSI datastore machine. Would a physical or virtual setup (ESXi) be better in performance and reliability? What Operating System would be best for a corporate work environment...
It is possible to place OSX onto ESXi 4.1 but it is really a pain... trust me...
Your best approach is what some people on this thread mentioned to use ESXi 5.0.
I have tested OSX 10.5/10.6/10.7 on ESXi 5.0 and it works without any problems.
Google is your friend... It is insanely fun when you...
Hey all,
My ESXi machine is connected to my 192.168.0.0 network but I would like to make another network 10.10.0.0 & 172.16.0.0 within ESXi. Is it possible? Is there anyway to create Virtual NICs and/or Virtual Switches too as VMs?
Hey,
I was wondering if anyone got a mini-itx mobo that is either a Q67 or a Z68 chipset that got VT-d working with everything else onboard(ethernet, sata controller, etc)?
I was thinking of getting the Q67 BOXDQ67EPB3 mobo(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... OXDQ67EPB3) but the Max...
Did anyone get the USB ESXi 4.1 to boot properly from this motherboard? I could only install ESXi on a PATA drive :S
If it is not possible, can someone recommend a better 890FX motherboard that supports the full features of IOMMU ( ESXi boot up on a usb stick, PCIe pass-through device, etc.)?

What would be the a good controller card to handle 8 or more hard drives for a raidz2 ZFS configuration? I have available...
Alright, so your saying if I plan on geting a proper network controller card like
Intel EXPI9402PT 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI-Express Dual Port Server Adapter 2 x RJ45 (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106014CVF)
so the installation will properly work.
However, once ESXi is...
Hey all!
I just got a new system (1090T + GA-890FXA-UD5 +8GB ram +2x1TB + 6x 2TB EARS) and the primary purpose of this system is to be a ZFS filesystem and secondary hosting a few VMs.
People on various HF threads mentioned using FreeNAS, FreeBSD or OpenSolaris. The idea is to install the...
