I will upgrade only after they fix a few hardware capability issues. I don't want to lose all of my DVD & Blu-Ray drives. They work fine with Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 but do not show up at all with Windows 10.
In my experience, sound cards (creative cards specifically) have such bad drivers and so many compatibility issues that I can not advise anyone to buy a sound card unless their on-board sound sub-system fails (rare but it happens).
You can add HP and Verizon to the list of companies that do this. Wall Street is driving customer support and company value while telling employees that it makes the investor's happy.
If you can afford it, get the Noctua NF-F12. They may be pricy but they are worth it. As for bad reviews, the only bad reviews I have ever seen for them is because of the price.
I don't feel so bad about how my desk looks now. At least I have a desk with proper ventilation for the system and placement for the mouse and keyboard, even if both monitors are sitting on old books (Win98 Resource kit for example).
I barely get by with a full size ergo keyboard. This things looks like way too small for me and people like me to actually use. The one redeeming feature is water resistance - something every keyboard should be but is not.
If I were you; I would hold off. Your 6770 will support 1080p (it will not produce good frame-rates) but it will get you buy until you can afford to put more money with your $100.00. Do you really want to replace your current card only to turn around and replace six months down the road...
It worked perfectly until her system crashed, just as it had done in my system. The only difference between her system and mine is that she is useing a GTX 460 1GB to my HD6950 2GB.
Sorry, it is easer for me to read than white text as white text appears as a blur to my damaged diabetic eyes. Alas there is nothing wrong with the hardware itself so an RMA with Newegg is not possible/feasable. I think something happened to the registery entries for this card when the...
Alas, the card works perfectly when playing a youtube video but not when playing an audio file. Even audio files (be it an MP3 or WMA) that use to play perfectly. I had hoped it would just a speaker configuration setting or something like that. If I set windows to use my speakers as 2.1...
I had hoped that someone would have actually had an idea not already covered. As for the Realtek on-board audio, I have never allowed it to be enabled on my system. Right now however my wifes Realtek sounds better than my SoundBlaster.
It was noted that the issue I described along with several others seem to be limited to the AMD 890/990 chipsets. I honestly think it's a driver conflict of some kind.
@Spaceman - both systems use the same motherboard, proc... The only difference is that her system uses a GTX460 1GB while...
The speakers I am using are analog. The specific model is Altec Lansing VS3251. I have used them since 2006 and this is the worse problem I have every had with them. They worked fine with my X-Fi Xtreme Gamer as well as the on board sound chip so I know the problem is not them. Moving the...
I have a huge problem with my recently purchassed Sound Blaster Z. The sound is so bad that it reminds me of my great grandfather's old 1946 GMC pick-up with a blown speaker. There is no bass at all, unless I am watching a video on YouTube or anything else that uses flash.
Here is an idea of...
I am wondering is this micro-studdering may have anything to do with a 116 blue screen that a friend of mine is getting with his crossfired 4850s. Any ideas?
I have not seen one of those in a long time. I have seen two different versions of that, one was a DRM device to unlock an application the other was a remote controlled keylogger that recorded everykey stroke into a hidden file on a hard drive. The keylogger version that I saw would not allow...
It was full of holes back in 1996 and nothing has changed. If I did not need java because of my job, I would not have it on any system on my network. It is just not secure enough to be trusted with anything.
ArenaNet's idea of end game is PvP. Unless you want to wander around aimlessly farming this or that area or try your hand at PvP I would not advise GW2.
I too dislike PvP but GW2 does it a bit differently and it can be fun. I am not refering to sPvP.
When I found this in a driver update (about a month ago) I just installed an older version of the driver that did not require an always on connection. That said, I will never be buying Razer again.
To the best of my knowledge ArticSilver 5 is STILL one of the best thermal pastes around. Here is a web site where you can view the performance of several different thermal compounds: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Thermal-Compound-Roundup-January-2012/1468/5
Edit: As for your old...
