    Dell P2314H "pixelated"?

No, in fact my previous display was a Samsung XL2370 which was a lot cooler in colors, I think this is neutral. Even after using this display for a month, the most annoying thing for me is that I can see some sort of pixelation, which I have never seen yet on my previous (TN) monitors. It's...

    72/75 hz question

Well, I only have a HD5670, does that matter in overclock? For me 175mhz didn't work, currently it's running on 164.13 mhz.

    72/75 hz question

I could get 75 Hz working with the settings Tup3x linked from a few comments above, and this works well over DP. However I couldn't get 80 Hz no matter how I try, so maybe that's only possible with P2414H.

    72/75 hz question

I think I've already figured out the problem, while I used my HDTV+monitor in mirrored mode it didn't work well... sometime the screen distorted, or went black (rarely), however I'm using the "extended" mode now, this way the monitor can work easily with 72hz, while my tv runs at 60hz, and both...

    72/75 hz question

Is there anyone who've already succeeded to overclock this monitor to 80 Hz? I wonder if it's possible, because P2414H does work with 80 Hz.

    Dell P2314H "pixelated"?

Sorry if it was misunderstandable, I didn't mean the PWM flickering (and there's no other light sources here atm, so that can't be the case). The flicker I see is more like when I'm looking at any type of colored background, it doesn't feel like when looking at a white paper for example...

    Dell P2314H "pixelated"?

Hmm, I think it might be the anti-glare coating, as it really looks like some very fine transparent sandpaper. My previous TN monitor (23" Full HD Samsung) also had an anti-glare, and I think it was probably stronger, as the screen remained somewhat more unaffected from the sunshine. However...

    Dell P2314H "pixelated"?

Thanks, but I think this isn't the problem. Fonts look nice, what I meant about being pixelated is the screen itself, like pictures, and backgrounds, etc. Instead of "pixelated" maybe "grainy" would be a better word, as the whole display looks like that, but it's a little hard to describe.

    Dell P2314H "pixelated"?

I wonder if anyone else experienced this problem - I replaced my TN monitor with a P2314H, which is my first IPS, and even after a few weeks, it feels that the screen is somewhat pixelated compared to any of my previous monitors. This shouldn't be the case, as it's running in 1920x1080 and I...

    72/75 hz question

Thanks, I've changed it to 71.928Hz This way the clock is at 163.99MHz, that should be good in theory? No black screen so far, however it's hard to say, as it's a rare thing to see (thankfully).

    72/75 hz question

Do you have any suggestion what should I try changing in the timings? This is the first time I have a Dell monitor, and I never experimented with the timings before.

    72/75 hz question

I've tried some timings that I found on the net, one for P2414H(which should also work with 80Hz in theory), and one for U2312HM (for 72Hz, currently I'm using the this one). I didn't try on DVI yet, only with DP, and for 99% of the time it works fine, but I can see the black screen for 1 sec...

    72/75 hz question

Yes, it's overclocked to 72 hz, it works fine most of the time, I'm not sure why the screen goes black for a sec, sometimes. I wondered if there's any effect of the refresh rate about the 6+2 bit FRC dithering, or anything like that, which would make it better on the eyes, but if there isn't...

    72/75 hz question

I have a Dell P2314H, and if I set it to 72 hz (via DisplayPort) the screen sometimes goes black for a sec, is this normal? It happens rarely... like one time within a few hours, but I wonder if there is any way to fix this? Also what advantages does 72 hz exactly have? I know it's better to...

Is this a PSU problem? (Corsair 400 W)

Thanks for your answers, I've checked the settings in the motherboard, and it alarmed me once the CPU was over 60c, so 67-68 was already too much at 100% load. I've cleaned the dust from around the CPU cooler, and now everything seems fine, also it is around 30-40c, which is much better!

Is this a PSU problem? (Corsair 400 W)

Recently more and more often my machine starts beeping (it isn't intermittent, but non-stop, continuous). The CPU is an E6750, when it's under 100% load (eg video encode) the temperature will go up to 67-68 degrees, while idle is around 42-44 degrees. May this cause a problem, or is it a...

    Samsung XL2370 Problem

I noticed this too, on my XL2370, especially if you stand up and watch it from above, it is very noticable on blue colors with mine... it isn't really bad when you watch it from a normal angle. btw I had other Samsung TN monitors before and never experienced a problem like this.

    IPS overated?

I have bought recently a 32" S-IPS LG tv, and for X360/watching movies I'd say the quality is around the same like with my Samsung XL2370, the big difference is that the viewing angles are much better, there is no darkening/gamma shift, also the bigger screen is nice for these things. It is 8...

    LED Backlighting Causing Eye Strain/Headaches?

I'm using my Samsung XL2370 with 33 brightness, 67 contrast, and there isn't any more eyestrain than with my previous Samsung 2494HS, rather I found that it is easier on the eyes.

    WLED IPS monitor?

Why isn't there an IPS monitor with WLED backlight yet? There are a lots of TN's already. Is it harder to produce? WLED should be much cheaper to produce than CCFL, isn't it? I had a TN with CCFL, and now a TN with WLED, the wled one has much better colors, and there isn't any noticable...

    Dell U2311H

Well, he said he used 31 brightness, and 60 contrast in the video review, which is probably under 120cd/m, and I don't think many people will use it at lower settings. Many games and movies have darker scenes, where is a lot of black, and dark details in the backgrounds, so I'm afraid that if I...

3x6 bit TN vs 3x6 bit IPS vs 3x8 bit IPS

Hi! Thanks for your help, Well, I asked it in the shop, where I wanted to buy my new monitor, and they said that U2211H/U2311H are only 8 bits with the FRC (so 6+2 bits, like with TN panels), based on what people said here this shouldn't be true, as every IPS panel should be at least 3x8...
  23. S

    Dell U2311H

That sounds much better! I don't know where they got the information, that it's only 6 bit then... they even said that the LG W2220P is much worse than 2209wa because it isn't true 8-bit. So an IPS/eIPS panel is always at least true 8 bit? If that's the case it should be much better than my...

    Dell U2311H

Are you sure about this? At the shop I wanted to buy an U2311H they said that they are sure it is 6+2 bit only, they said the same about LG W2220P a few weeks ago, for example 2209wa is 8+2 bits. If it's sure that it is true 8 bit, I'd buy it...

3x6 bit TN vs 3x6 bit IPS vs 3x8 bit IPS

What is the main difference? I heard that TN can't display the darker shades correctly, and some colors, because it has only 3x6 bit color reproduction (+ 2 FRC) Some newer eIPS panels like LG W2220P, Dell U2211H, U2311H has 3x6 bits only, like a TN monitor, and they get the 3x8 bit through...

    Dell U2311H

Also I heard that this monitor is only 8 bits (6+2), isn't that more like a TN in terms of color reproduction? The problem with 6+2 bits are that the dark shades of gray doesn't look that good like they should on a real 8 bit panel, dark movies and games are suffering from this. Is there a big...

    Dell U2311H

Is it really worth it to replace my Samsung XL2370 (LED backlit TN) with this monitor? My biggest problem is that when i lean back in my chair dark movies, and maybe dark games are the most problematic (for example Ninja Gaiden 2 on X360), they are almost unenjoyable, thanks to the TN gamma...

    XL2370 or F2380M?

Which of the two is better? Also, what is F2380MX? I don't see this monitor in Europe anywhere, is this the same as F2380M? I read it doesn't have the ghosting issues as the original F2380. Main usage: watching movies, internet, etc. So good looking colors, high contrast, and black levels are...

    IPS overated?

Isn't IPS better for darker games? For example playing Ninja Gaiden 2 on my Xbox 360 looked very bad on every TN I had, it is probably because TN can't display dark shades, and colors, like they should be.

    Samsung XL2370

Do you use Gamma Mode 1 or 2? For me gamma mode 1 is very dark for movies, and colors doesn't look too accurate in my opinion either. Mode 2 is nice, and colors looks very good too. The only problem is that for standard pc usage I like mode 1 better, so I always have to switch between them...

DSUB vs HDMI on low end tn panels

It has DVI, use that, DVI is the same quality as HDMI (for a TN monitor, at least), HDMI carries audio too, but you shouldn't care about that for PC use. D-SUB is analog, and it is worse than DVI, even on a 21.5" monitor. One of my friend has this BenQ, he likes it.

recommend me a decent LED monitor

Well, this is very disturbing for me, and I can't do too much about the height issue, as for me it is too high, not too low. This height is comfortable though... but darkening/black crush occurs, which is very annoying, mainly at darker games, and sometimes in movies too (but as I've said...

recommend me a decent LED monitor

Yes I have, for me when I sit normally on the chair, my eye is about the same height as the monitor's center, I can only see from box #5, the others are hardly visible, also most of the colors looks about the same. If I stand up a little, and my eye is about the top of the monitor I can see down...

    Dell U2311H

recommend me a decent LED monitor

How are black levels worse when it's only 0.15 on U2311H?.. I'd like to watch movies and sometimes play games(not FPS), but the details can't be seen on XL2370, and dark scenes looks like shit (with crushed details), I hope U2311H is better for this... blacks doesn't look any good on the XL2370...

recommend me a decent LED monitor

I own an XL2370, which after calibration has 0.24cd/m black level, 658:1 contrast ratio, and you can even see the dithering on gray shades, and some colors, because it's only 6-bit, also blacks are crushed, and viewing angles sux, the backlight isn't evenly distributed either, and there is...

recommend me a decent LED monitor

I think XL2370 is easier on the eyes too, than my previus 2494HS was, but the dithering can be seen on gray shades if you really look for it. It may tire the eyes, even if you don't really see it... probably an IPS monitor with LED backlight is the best choice, like the new Dell U2311H, colors...
