disable/remove adobe gamma loader (not sure if this is included with lightroom - it is with photoshop) if you're calibrating with a colorimeter--which, if you aren't, i would recommend.
to get a good result would take a tremendous amount of time (which is probably why there aren't any takers thus far)...like it did to create in the first place.
"This is my most complicated Photoshop piece to date, with over 7,700 layers and a total file size of 2.2GB. When I first had the...
i prefer music>artist>album for finding stuff on my ipod...but i guess that's just me.
you can search the whole ipod...for partial anything, and you can scroll by song alphabetically. i think that's it.
definitely a joke.
"Cupidtino will launch in June 2010 exclusively on Apple platforms Safari, iPhone and iPad apps..."
my first thought was--how would it only run on safari, and not other browsers?
lightroom did this for me too, until i calibrated my monitor (trashed the default color management settings, and made my calibration the default). i think it is adobe managing the color settings (in this case overriding the rendering intent) within lightroom--and you're essentially watching the...
i've enjoyed both osx and windows.
this last time around, i was planning on buying a mac pro (have been very happy with my macbook pro), but due to some software i must use (professionally) windows was still going to be in the mix. i realized i could probably do better hardware for less...
there's probably no such thing as a good computer brand for those who are willing to build their own--choices would almost certainly be limited, prices would be higher, etc. etc.
you'd have to offer exotic or other wise unavailable parts (custom maybe), know your shit, and still be somehow...
the color isn't so very different, it looks like a gamma issue to me. have you disabled adobe gamma? although i'm not sure if that explains the similarity between the windows viewer and ps...worth a try.
Defense mentioned two of the more popular low cost options (also the HP LP2475w)...but you haven't mentioned your budget. Eizo, NEC, and LaCie, also offer a range very very good photography appropriate monitors for considerably more dough.
madFive again with some good advice.
one issue with ISO is that in the dogged avoidance of noise many people opt to underexpose at say 1600 when a properly exposed image at 3200 might have added no additional noise--and given an image of better overall quality. obviously this is a case by case...
i have to say i'm interested in how (or rather where) CAF didn't do such a good job on those images...in the demo (and in other cs5 demo videos) it looked unreal. still, pretty amazing time-cost/benefits.
i do this sort of work (consumer products though, not trans) and i can get behind danny's builds with the exception of the video cards. look into workstation cards (i got mine on ebay for <$300), or figure out if soft modding any current gaming cards is a possibility. workstation cards or at...
itunes is much more finicky for me on win7x64 than it ever was in xpx86...particularly with syncing...i think it still needs some ironing out. i'm on 9.1.0.79.
you'll either need to lower your bclk/multiplier or up your vcore until it's stable...i'm running 20x179 @ 1.225v just to give you an idea. dram frequency is RAM speed...uclk has to be double (or more?) the dram freq. running your ram faster has much less impact on overall performance than cpu...
possibly memory. is what you're using on asrock's qvl? when i built my system i tried (hopefully) to use 4gb ecc sticks--which made for a very simple and thorough no-go like what you describe. when i swapped for 2gb sticks (on asus' qvl) everything went as expected.
i thought i read somewhere in the coverage that it was glass...well either way, i didn't say anything about a display on both sides--and as far as "stupid", you might've thought the n64 controller (or any other console controller that broke from one plane of input) was "stupid" the first time...
i thought you were using your own calibration hardware/software created profile. if not, that is likely your best bet for achieving the "truest" output from your monitor. forget the monitor presets (and don't make monitor setting changes after calibrating -- it undoes what you just did).
i'm gonna go on record here and suggest that the next iteration will look much like that prototype...and that part of the reason is because there will be multitouch capability on the back of the phone (hence more of the conductive glass).
feel free to beat me up about it if i'm wrong.
squares #1 and #2 are indistinguishable from the bg for me...if i turn off all other light sources, and full screen (as is suggested by the test instructions) the #3 becomes ever so slightly noticeable...from #4 on up i'm good.
fyi -- i'm using a samsung syncmaster 226bw that i don't much care for.
if you're otherwise happy with and confident in the calibration you've done already -- the only remaining thing i can think of is to reduce the brightness, recalibrate, and (subjectively) check your blacks again on a familiar image/Lagom etc. time of day/ambient light factors into your...
i haven't done it in a long time, so no guarantees...but using xp (when i had a hard drive fail) i copied the contents of the ipod to the fresh install (new drive, before installing itunes), and then when i installed itunes i "added" that folder and all my music was brought into the library no...
to bring it back around a bit, the societal context is what's disputed with the current p2p type file sharing or "piracy" situation. i don't believe the majority of file sharers feel guilty, nor are they embarrassed by their actions--i think they're confused as to why the media industry so...
laws, and societal obligations, require normative behavior...at least insofar as we choose to belong to that culture or municipality. therein lies the need to for justification for our actions when we choose to deviate. this is an argument for law, not morality.
i don't want to be mistaken...
i'm saying if you don't allow for that possibility, you're not having a truly open and honest discussion. normative behavior shouldn't in and of itself dictate ethical behavior.
no, it's not. that's exactly my point. some tribal man somewhere doesn't believe anything that you believe...does exactly the opposite, and thinks he is acting ethically/morally/kindly/legally. religion is very tricky to integrate into ethics, as it blends dogma and often inflexible belief...
this assumes we live in the same cultural/religious/social context. which is at the root of this issue. let's i'm the tribal guy, and i spit on you the modern american...you can't help but be a bit put off (perhaps more than that). what if the action is more extreme or permanent, and i kill your...
the problem with this "simple" yes/no question, is that there is no simple answer to it. the only correct answer IMO is "sometimes". I think most here would probably agree that killing in self defense is ethical--even if they believe killing is essentially immoral. Ethical relativism is messy...
datacolor has an updated driver/software which worked for me...although windows took quite a while to recognize the hardware. your old s/n works upon install.

that's the name of the game with value add parts. the reason to include/offer it, is simply that it lets you use your cpu--with very little short term hassle...it's one less barrier to the purchase.
cpu : oem heatsink :: water : disposable plastic bottle
that said, maybe they could have a...
