Someone literally.... just beat me to it. I am convinced im just not supposed to have one of these modems lol, unless i want to spend almost 300$ CAD on one after exchange, taxes and shipping.
I'm currently using a smartRG 808ac that I picked up off marketplace ( paid 30 CAD/20usd! ) The only challenge I have with that one is I had to downgrade to their 250/15 plan, whereas to use their 300/100 plan I need something capable of DOCSIS 3.1.
Come to think of it... They just wanted the...
First off I fully agree with what you are saying! What they are telling me is that they support what's on the list, and refuse to add anything else that is not on there.... If an SB8200 magically showed up at my place tho I would give it an honest shot at getting registered!
I had a 21 inch Sony Trinitron... I swear it was made of solid granite! I affectionately referred to it as the desk breaker because over time it would just bow out the high quality particle board that most desks are made from lol
Well boys and girls, the verdict is in and this thing HONKS compared to my ISP provided router. I can now max out my 300mbps connection at every point in my house (my basement would average 30-40mbps with dropped connectivity)
Overall I figure I'm good for a few years now!
Hey there, the thought had crossed my mind, I saw the recent LTT video and thought 🤔🤔🤔 I'm 1100 sq ft plus a finished basement. Im getting the dir x5460 for 50$ Canadian (like 35$ US) so I think might fit the bill for now?
Hey Folks!
I'm going to be going back to running my own network (giving up my ISP with their sub par AIO unit) and my AC66U is a little long in the tooth. in doing some research it looks like ASUS and TP Link have WIFI 7 units ready to go any day now. If I'm upgrading the router, my mindset is...
As the title states, I'm looking to switch internet providers and this one is on their "approved" list. after checking the forums here I would much rather go with an Arris SB8200 but I dont want to take the gamble that it may not work. FYI I do live in the great white north of Canada, so please...
You didn't release the magic smoke thankfully, but you probably just melted some PCB or insulation. I would give everything a good visual inspection but if everything is working as intended you should be good!
How serious are you, and what are you use cases? If your intended to be outdoors in bright sunny conditions a GoPro can be a good value, but if you want to step up the food chain you could look at the Sony zv1. Beyond that you get into "real" camera territory, cameras like the a7c, a7iv... Full...
Agreed! Remember you are essentially just tapping power from the port otherwise... I know new standards are more robust but still the idea of a power supply makes sense
Long shot but if you have a spare PSU I would give it a go... A long time ago I was getting weird Intermittent issues like that and after a PSU swap it was years of smooth sailing!
I couldn't agree more, I remember what happens in the i5 2500 era tho... I feel like that sleeping giant may awaken again but I feel like AMD is MUCH better poised to respond.
