I would suggest you get a completely new system except for the optical drives. Since you are on a rather low budget, I would suggest either
1. buy a refurbished/used system off hard/craiglist/ computer manufacturer's outlet
2. get a complete combo from the online dealers such as this one

And if you really want to save up,I would suggest buy used components online(you can definitely get everything you need at pretty decent price on [H]ard) and build it.
YeOldeStonecat is right. I never install the Access Connection crap and it works just fine. In fact, the software does not support my school network so we have to uninstall it in order to use the Wifi lolz

lolz I've been using Winamps with the classic (old-borung black and green windows) all my life and iTunes, compared to Winamps is just a slow ass both performance wise and function wise. Seriously, Winamps are much better making playlist :D
