Mass Effect 2 is a very, very close second to BFBC2 in my eyes. ME2 was fantastic, but BFBC2 was also very fun but I got a good 80 hours out of it before I got bored and with ME2 I got a little tired after 2 play throughs, with the second one taking less time than the first.
I currently use Grado SR60s for a decent sounding pair of headphones, because I like having some amount of mobile fidelity. However, it bleeds sound and doesn't block out the noise of a LAN party and this little guy would help out :)
You could also consider just buying 2 5850's and crossfiring them. That will be more available and get you near-identical framerates. They will have better overclocking headroom as well if that matters to you.
If you're using Windows XP still (im not sure) then DX11 is kinda pointless since you cant use it, but the new cards comming out should have some effect on pricing (at least in the used market) making GTX 2xx and Radeon 48xx cards cheaper
Okay, show me links to a 3rd party website like Hardocp or Anandtech that has done a review of the new cards.
Oh wait
My point is that the rumored performance is just that, rumored. It may be correct or it may not, we need reputable sources to check it out.
As a note, my motherboard no longer reads CPU temperatures correctly with Phenom II processors. It's a known bug with this version of the BIOS, unfortunately newer versions of the BIOS have broken compatibility (or so I read) so I didn't risk it.
I'm going to reseat my CPU fan and see if that...
Hello everyone, I have a strange issue.
My current system is a:
M2N-Sli Deluxe (nVidia 570 chipset)
AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.2
4 GB G.Skill DDR2-800
Windows 7 Professional 32bit on Vertex 30gb as boot drive
500gb WD caviar blue
PNY GTX 260 (192 shader version)
I built my brother this computer...
Shattered Horizon is DirectX10 only and is made by Futuremark (who made 3dmark) is really tough to run, look really solid on high settings too.
Also Empire Total War
you guys need to be more specific with the 4870.
The 4870 512mb version is NOT faster than the 192 260, they are about equal so dont pay more for that one.
The 4870 1gb version is faster than the 192 260 and about equal with the 216 version.
$120 is a good price, but im always a...
This is a joke.
Eyefinity didnt exist until recently, was 3 monitors ever such a big deal for the last 10 years you've used a computer? Then why now?
3 monitor support from 1 card went from a "no one even cares enough to ask about it"
feature to "the most important, deciding factor" on...
dont keep it for physx unless you play Batman: AA for it.
If you keep both cards you may want to go a little higher than 650, maybe a 750. If you just go GTX 260 but no 8800 GTS 320 then the 650 should be enough.
Moving to a 4870 1gb or a Gtx 260 would be a pretty good upgrade, if anyone says otherwise they never did it.
I moved from an 8800 GTS 320 SLI (yeah mang) to a GTX 260 and the increase in minimum framerates was awesome, it makes it seem way smoother even if the average FPS isn't way higher...
